The Governor of La. asked that photo Ops be delayed for now because it would cause traddic problems and keep the real work from being done. Hillary and Obama will wait until they aren't in the way. Trump didn't.

That is very generous of him.

I remember when my family evacuated for Hurricane Opal in Florida. No where near as bad as this one in LA, but we had to stay at a shelter for a day and a half. One of the other people there was a guy who had a large industrial size popcorn maker and he had a generator so was able to make everyone a treat. Everyone was so excited to get some hot buttered popcorn.

Point is that it's the little things that count when you're dealing with a disaster and unable to go home. I'm sure those children were thrilled to get a gift.

Sure. I'm pretty sure that small truck of Play Doh is much better than food, water, or all the other supplies that victims of a flood think they might need. It's a good thing that the president will see that they get as much of that stuff as possible.

FEMA was there from the beginning. Along with the Red Cross, Salvation Army as well as the Shriners, Lions and other civic and relief organizations. The National Guard and many volunteers were on the scene. Trump and Pence showed up. Obama was playing golf and smoking weed and he wasn't wanted.

Trump wasn't wanted either.

The office of Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards signaled that Donald Trump is welcome to visit Louisiana in the wake of destructive flooding, but only if he does not use it for political gain.

"Donald Trump hasn’t called the governor to inform him of his visit," a spokesman for Edwards' office said in a statement Thursday evening. "We welcome him to LA but not for a photo-op. Instead we hope he’ll consider volunteering or making a sizable donation to the LA Flood Relief Fund to help the victims of the storm."

Edwards, a Democrat, also said Thursday night that he would prefer that President Barack Obama wait at least a week to visit.

Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway on Friday called the visit of the Republican nominee and running mate Gov. Mike Pence "presidential" and "a decidedly nonpolitical event, no press allowed, going to help people on the ground who are in need."

Yes, if you want an NFL degree, OSU and Alabama are great. If you want that and a good education, Michigan is the place to go.

But as for the poor, whatever they have, they spend. Businesses are always looking for reliable people. Showing up for work every day and caring about your employer is a great starting point. Having owned two businesses that hired minimum wage workers (one restaurant and one child care center), here is what the minimum wage does. It makes us decide if they are good or suck and if they suck fire them in less than three months so we aren't stuck paying more unemployment taxes.

People who are reliable and put in effort we raise wages quickly to keep them from finding better jobs. Minimum wage isn't an issue, they quickly make more. And then there is more opportunity for better jobs and wages from there. And you start saving and living below your means and you change your life. It's in the poor's power to not be poor. Most of them continue to make the wrong choices.

And Democrats keep trying to keep them making the wrong choices and blame everyone else for their problems. The poor have to help themselves
