If there is no God, no heaven, and no hell, then this world is merely a land of shadows which has no point at all.

Several fallacies. The jewish/christian bible was about yahweh, war deity, not a supreme creator, "God." And there was no "heaven and hell" until the myth about the mentally ill character called jesus was developed. "Believers" in the jewish/christian bible are actually pacifistic as they await their dead jewish messiah to "save them."
