So now we have a Netflix docudrama depicting Queen Cleopatra as being black when, in fact, she was not. What was the definition of docudrama again? What happened to the left believing in facts?

Netflix’s upcoming docudrama “Queen Cleopatra” in which Britain’s Adele James, who is of mixed heritage, plays the first-century Egyptian ruler as a queen with African roots is sparking an uproar in Egypt.

Egyptian academics are claiming that Cleopatra, who was born in the Egyptian city of Alexandria in 69 BC and belonged to a Greek-speaking dynasty, was of European descent and not Black

Some people claim she was black. Whatever she looked like I'm sure it was nothing even close to Elizabeth Taylor.

Part of this is semantics. Many "Black" Americans believe that "white" Americans think of anyone who is not of "white" European stock as a n*gger. Hence the reference to Arabs by U.S. servicemen as "sand n*ggers."

But if that perception is accepted, then Cleopatra was not "white," and should be thought of as "Black." Nobody is actually claiming that she was a Nubian or black African.

From the standpoint of drama (and history), her race is insignificant. What is significant is that she was considered beautiful in her time, so beautiful that it gave her extraordinary power politically. And as patrons of a movie, we can use our imagination to accept that, if necessary.

It's more about trying to gaslight black americans that hey you know we also did important stuff back in the day and we had great civilizations.......which is a lie. Black American's ancestry is from west sub saharan Africa, about 2,500 miles from Cairo and the largest desert to cross. At various times there were likely some African horners migrating up the Nile but they are totally different tribes than W. Africans,

Frashisle.

I swear, Netflix is off the hook. They had a negro/Nazi movie they dredged-up from 2017. I guess nobody was woke enough (insane) to want to see it back then.

And yeah, it was every bit as boring and improbable as it seems.

Yes Cleopatra looked like Liz Taylor and Roman soldiers spoke with British accents (Why don’t Roman soldiers speak with Italian accents? Why doesnt Jesus speak with a Jewish accent?)
Jesus was white with blue eyes

Why can’t they get history right?
