So you're a liberal who wants to destroy more American jobs in the middle of a recession?

What would happen if the police finished the job?

What would we do if the cops succeeded at their task and made the world safe?​

Would we fire them? Should we? What would we have them do if some freak combination of freedom and responsibility ended crime?

If we lived in a 100% peaceful society where human beings are 100% committed ot a crime free society, then yes ,there would be no purpose for the existence of law enforcement.
Look, if the ABC Widget Company found itself without a market for it's widgets, obviously the ABC Widget Company would either move on to creating another product( everyone who is needed to perform that task remains employed) or the ABC Widget Company goes out of business and of course the jobs disappear.
Now, using your logic, the ABC Widget Company should stay in business even though it has no market for it's product...JUST to insure the employees remain employed....Is that your take?....If so, how long do you think the ABC Widget Company would remain in business before it's financial resources would be exhausted and thus would lack the capital to stay in business?
