That's not always true Jo, and it's therefore not a law of physics. But I'm thinking of some rare exceptions.They fail in the basics of physics. No process can be sustained which uses more energy than it produces. First law of thermodynamics and zeroth law.

When energy is converted from one form to another there is nearly always some energy loss. Therefore, wouldn't that be applicable to your claim?
