This is such a flippant answer, Vel. It is not a real-world choice for most employees. I NORMALLY worked 50-60 hours a week; if I took a personal day and used comp time my employer was stunned. 60 hours a week became the "new 40" rather fast. (BTW during heavy work periods, 100 hours a week was not unusual.)
That means I GAVE him 20 hours a week, free of charge. Time I could have spent with my child. Time I cannot now get back. If he'd been paying me OT, you can bet your ass I would never have been "allowed" to work those hours.
Comp time, for most employees, is nothing more than the forced donation of personal time to the employer. It is wrong, IMO, unless the employee has the option to get paid if he prefers.
