The estimate was not intended to become public. It was just leaked.
Their previous estimate was 0.1% every two weeks.

"The Trump administration now estimates that the cost of the government shutdown will be twice as steep as originally forecast.
The original estimate that the partial shutdown would subtract 0.1 percentage point from growth every two weeks has now been doubled to a 0.1 percentage point subtraction every week, according to an official who asked not to be named."

.1 percentage point per week?
:113:

So, in 6 months we could have a negative GDP?

Yeah, that person obviously has an agenda and/or is talking out of his/her ass.

Here is the order of events:

1. Republican Senate passes spending bill on December 18. It will next proceed to the Republican House.

2. Deficit Donald announces he will sign the bill when it gets to his desk.

3. Mr. Coulter and Drug Addled Rush pitch a fit.

4. Deficit Donald announces he will not sign the bill. It is then spiked in the Republican House.

5. The new Congress is sworn in.

6. The new Democratic House passes the spending bill which had been passed by the Republican Senate.

7. Mitch McConnell refuses to bring the exact same spending bill his Republican Senate passed before to the floor for a vote by the new Senate, because he knows it will pass.

I see. So now Rush Limbaugh runs the USA? And Ann Coulter is his First Lady? How can Trump be their puppet when Putin was first in line? That's going to make Vladimir very mad.
Yep, Addict Rush and Mr. Coulter are bossing Deficit Donald around.

Exactly.

KGB Putin bosses his puppet around on foreign affairs.

All caught up now?

That makes it a lot easier to take then knowing that Rush is behind the shutdown. Him and Ann are the Left's green kryptonite.
They're your heros, aren't they?

...and....
Conservatives are conflicted. One commented that it has to be a lie because the official is anonymous, and the other said it just doesn’t matter.

And you give a shit...why?
Would it be because Trump is in the white house?

Trump's behavior as POTUS is the issue, the facts which seem to go way beyond your level of comprehension are these:
  • He is a narcissist
  • He is a megalomaniac
  • He is an autocrat
  • He is not intelligent
  • He has zero empathy
  • He is a damn liar
I can go on, but the facts on display every day sustain each one of these allegations.

The very fact that Trump is trying everything to get Congress to fund the wall rather than simply declaring a national emergency and building the damn thing without Congress, which he without question has the legal authority to do, proves that you are either stupid or are you full of shit when you call him an autocrat.

The fact that every single thing you listed could be applied to Obama yet I can't find a single post of your in the past criticizing him proves that you are a dishonest partisan hack.

Uh...allow me to educate you.

The shutdown is costing the US 0.1 percentage of GDP growth each week.

So, yeah. We could end up with negative growth, a.k.a. a "recession".

why not fund the wall and call it a day? you didn't care when billions went to other countries for support. why now? oh yeah TDS. keep it shutdown until the 5.7B makes it on a budget. we're cool with the government staying shutdown. are you? at some point someone will need to blink and it won't be trump.

BTW, the dems know what it will take to reopen the government and are doing nothing. and you don't care. it seems you don't care others are not getting paid.

The House Democrats have met their constitutional obligation.
nope, they haven't negotiated a budget. why not? they know the president isn't going to sign unless 5.7B is in there. what else are they gonna do? Just tell the citizens fk you we ain't giving that man money so fk you all? how mature.

They're obliged to fund the govt. They've passed spending bills that do just that.

They are not obliged to give a president what they want.
trump hasn't seen one of them. all the dems need to do is add 5.7B into the house bill, and 7 dems vote for it and send it back to the house for another vote. as long as the pres hasn't seen a bill, it isn't on him.
McConnell said he won’t introduce any bill that Trump isn’t willing to sign.

Not the first time McConnell's nonfeasance (shit on the spirit of COTUS) has impacted democracy in America.

Congress writes the budget. Where is the budget? All the more urgent that Nancy and Schumer do their jobs now and write a budget which includes the needed funding for the wall that Trump was elected to build and ran on! Quit holding up the nation, Democrats!

"...Saboteurs peddling opinion as research, tasking their staff on pet projects or pitching wasteful grants to their friends. Most of my career colleagues actively work against the president’s agenda. This means I typically spend about 15 percent of my time on the president’s agenda and 85 percent of my time trying to stop sabotage, and we have no power to get rid of them. Until the shutdown."

No, they have not. That's the partisan hack answer. Their obligation, as is the Senate's obligation, as is the president's obligation, is to work together to reach a compromise and end the impasse. The president wants $5 billion for a wall; the Democrats want nothing. Nobody is willing to budge. Mature adults would meet halfway, but that's not what we have in D.C. I don't support a wall either, but to cause all of this drama over pure partisan politics is irresponsible on everybody's part.
the one thing, and for me the only thing, both Pelosi and crying chuck were ok with a wall in 2014. The mere fact that they won't fund it today is pure partisan and Trump knows it. that my friend is really the shameful piece.

The Dems aren't asking for anything. They've made no demands. They've met their obligation to fund the govt.

It's the hostage takers that make demands.

Think about what you just posted. You're talking about all of the economic activity of the cabinet agencies and all of their employees for half a year.

The president and the Senate are not obliged to shut the govt down over funding requests, dope.

You must have really stretched your intellect to come up with such a biting retort.

Yep. Trump submitted a $4.407 trillion budget, with a trillion dollar deficit.

The biggest government spending budget in the history of humankind.

He beat Obama's worst year by a full trillion!

So much for The Party Of Small Government™

It's Okay When Trump Does It!™

We do t have a country if we don’t control who comes in
That's why we need immigration reform, not a wall.

A wall is the perfect symbol for a herd of parroting tards with a total lack of imagination.

Great. So it's his shutdown. Thanks.
