No...the Attorney general and the President...the ones providing the information requested by those Republican commities were...considering the AG met with her husband in secret and the FBI worked to hide the meeting....and then comey, the acting FBI head said he wasn't going to prosecute all the crimes he listed....and then it turns out the Deputy Director of the FBI has a wife who ran for office with the backing of terry mccauliffe, a clinton minion from back in the 90s...getting 250,000 dollars for the campaign...

As is typical of what I consistently observe about the nature of many remarks about legal matters and that are made on USMB, yet again we see presented a line of that exhibits little to no material awareness of the rule of law and its practitioners. The notion that a jurist or highly regarded attorney would jeopardize their career in order to appease whatever be their partisan feelings. Quite simply, the "tail" of partisanship does not "wag the dog" of the law, legal theory and precedent, case law and legal procedures.

Former top prosecutor Andrew C. McCarthy, who is a conservative, recently wrote an essay in the National Review entitled "Is Mueller’s Grand Jury Impeachment Step One?" The person who penned this thread's title and others who are similarly ill informed on matters of legal theory and practice would do well to read it. It covers a number a details about what is and is not so with regard to the "Russia" investigative process and the various actors role in it.

As for Chief Judge Howell, the Daily Beast reports:

“Even though she worked for Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee, she’s been very straight-arrow as a judge and she wouldn’t be impaneling a jury for the heck of it, or anything less than there being ample justification for it,” said a former federal lobbyist, referring to Howell’s previous work for Sen. Patrick Leahy. “She’s like Mueller: He wouldn’t ask for it unless he had more than enough evidence to justify it, and she wouldn’t have granted it unless he did.”

Be that as it may, if one takes exception with her, the only legitimate basis for doing so, as it is with any jurist, is to raise and cite substantive points of case law in refutation of her professional decisions as a jurist. Levying the "she's a Democrat" appellation is just an absurd and unfounded basis for doing so, regardless of what political party to which she belongs.
