Food banks across the country are seeing a rising demand for free groceries despite the growing economy (BULLSHIT), leading some charities to reduce the amount of food they offer each family.

U.S. food banks are expected to give away about 4 billion pounds of food this year, more than double the amount provided a decade ago, according to Feeding America, the nation's primary food bank network. The group gave away 3.8 billion in 2013.

Growing economy my ass. If it was truly growing, there would be less demand for charity. Of course the moonbat messiah's "solution" is to import millions more illiterate, diseased no skilled illegals.

James Ziliak, who founded the Center for Poverty Research at the University of Kentucky, said the increased demand is surprising since the economy is growing and unemployment has dropped from 10 percent during the recession to 5.3 percent last month. However, many people who have found jobs are working only part-time or for low wages, and others have stopped looking for work.

What utter bullshit! The labor participation rate has been in consistent decline since the moonbat messiah was elected. Mr. Ziliak need to do some research that doesn't come from DNC speech writers. It's the fact that people have given up looking for work, and no longer get unemployment that the so called "unemployment rate" is lower than it should accurately reflect.

Lisa Hamler-Fugitt, executive director of the Ohio Association of Food Banks, who has been working in food charities since the 1980s, said that when earlier economic downturns ended, food demand declined, but not this time.

Gee... maybe that's an indication that the downturn hasn't ended. Obozo and the democrooks have had us in a downward spiral.

Have trouble with the truth, Pete?

If we followed the far right corporatists' plans for the economy (think Baiamonte) for America, world wide poverty would increase by 10% in a year.

Well, the Kochs might indeed raise employment, but not necessarily wages, and at the cost of our health that the clean air and water acts have achieved.
