Obama's Option on appointing a Judge

Bottom Line:

Let the GOP block the nomination and they pay in November. It is their choice. Just like Trump. Either they nominate The Donald or he runs Third party. That is also their choice.

WOOW! This is getting to be a pretty tough election year for the Repubs, huh?
Stoned again eh?
We'll see in Nov. asshole.
By that time Hillary will be history. Sander's chances of getting the American voter to agree to turn America into Sander's wet dream called Russia-Lite is a delusion.
There has never been a thrid DEM President in a row in US history.
It has happened 3 times for the REP.
First time 4 terms in a row. Second time three terms in a row. Third time three terms in a row.
Have a nice cat food sandwich lunch.

Obama could nominate Hispanic pro-choice pro marriage equality Republican Brian Sandoval and really mess up the Republicans in the Senate.
Barry could nominate Pat Buchanan and the nomination would never be even bothered with.
The Senate and the American public are going to get a lot of 'pay-back'.
It will destroy any thought of him having a 'legacy'. It will in fact amplify how a bunch of 'OJ jurors' can destroy the country.
We may as well have allowed all the 'Special Needs' people in the country to cast a vote.

English please, Rantyboy.

I like the scenario where the Democrats win the Senate, and since Senators take office the first of the year,

Obama could get his pick confirmed between then and the inauguration.

It actually wouldn't have to be that fast. Nominations don't expire just because the nominating President leaves office. Though, if the White House went to the GOP candidate, the new President could always withdraw once he was in office.

If Bernie won the election and the Democrats took the Senate, the GOP would nominate anyone Obama had on the table in a heartbeat.

True. And if McConnell had been smart it's the option he would have kept in his back pocket. If he had kept his mouth shut he could have simply dragged out the nomination process until December. If you have a President Sanders, confirm Obama's nomination immediately; The GOP look like heroes for being cooperative and save themselves from an even worse nomination from Sanders. If you have a GOP President elect, you vote the appointment down. If you have a President elect Clinton, you weight your odds.

But because McConnell had to open his big fat mouth, he's not going to have that option easily available to him. He's backed himself into a corner and might be forcing his own hand to lead to something far worse than whatever Obama offers up.
