obamacare to have a surcharge for smokers

Your head must feel like it is going to explode all the time with the continuing and contrasting information that enters it, hmmm.

Company health insurance jacks insurance on smokers.

What the hell is wrong with you, Marty?

Oh, dblack, you are whining about good practices to drive down rates for everyone on the average.

Get your insurance some other way then or pay up.

Sheesh.

And the same for you, Marty.

Volunteer or face fines......

what a fine world we've created

Nine of the ten states with the highest rate of smoking are RED States

Smoking Rates Remain Highest in Kentucky, Lowest in Utah

Coincidence? Payback time Obama

Good point, and probably the BEST argument AGAINST federal government involvement in health insurance.

Thanks

Next, the Presidential candidates will choose which voting groups get the higher subsidy and lowest deductibles.

NOW THAT'S CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN!

Hey...Red States are chock full of low life smokers who do not know any better. Make them foot the bill for Obamacare. They are too stupid to know any better

Everyone engages in high risk behavior. Unless you live in a bubble wrapped in cotton batting you engage in high risk behavior. The government is just choosing acceptable high risk behavior like man on man sex or getting high on drugs and behavior it doesn't approve of like smoking or soda.

It's part of the growth of tyranny.

If smokers can get a better rate from private insurers, they are welcome to try

My money says they wont

Yes, and then charge an additional tax on gays because the don't participate, within their couplings in creating children. Children being the key requirement for society, and the need for government itself.

What fun this, using government to pick winners and losers, and lifestyle choices can be?

See the problem is, it's not you're money, it's others you want.

Typical

Having children adds to our healthcare costs. Not as much as those fucking smokers, but enough to make a difference. Only problem is that people actually like children.....nobody wants anything to do with smokers

To be honest, not only smokers have to be charged more, but also those with a BMI over 30.

Your a funny guy, without children there is NO need for either healthcare or government. If they increase the cost of healthcare is moot.

Ask the smokers parent if they like smokers, wives, husband, friends, lovers.

Why the hate

Shallow Sallow.........this is absolutely new.
There were NO plans that raised the cost from 50% to 400% more....none.

True, but private insurance charged more for smokers than for non-smokers.

As does our plan, $50 per month per adult member.
But $300 - $500 a month more?? No plan did that....and what else will come?
I can see it now...$25 for eating fast food....$10 for drinking soda....$20 for drinking alcohol...and on and on.
As with anything that involves the government, one the door unlatches - it swings wide open.

Oh, I agree the increase is absurd. But smokers and according to Vox those with a bmi over 30 are the only ones paying more. Your examples, above, are what this whole thing is about. Control. Anyone with half a brain can see that. Paying more (not this ridiculous amount more) for being a higher risk I'm fine with; gov't picking and choosing who pays more and who doesn't? Nope.

What the hell's wrong with you, neo? It's no longer insurance, which is a voluntary contractual arrangement. With ACA, we're conscripted into a state religion, and forced to tithe for life. There's no comparison with what insurance companies policies were previously.

Sheesh.

And the same for you, Marty.

You can't mandate more things be covered and have rates go down.

Well gosh. Guess those sidewalk barbques on every corner needs to be lumped in with anyone with a fireplace. And..when is alcohol going to be taxed like cigs? After all...it's a choice whether to suck that shit up just as its a choice to puff on a cig. Right?

For standard affordable and accessible care for EVERYBODY, we can come up with a reasonable rate. It will be cheaper in the long run than this awful state we have had for twenty years.

See Gracie, how much fun using the force of government to legislate lifestyle can be!

Just wait until your side is in power and you can use force against the other

Good times I tell ya, good times
