Over the next 10 years Obamacare will charge additional taxes of $257 billion from here:
The ObamaCare Medical Device Manufacturing Tax
A 2.3% tax on pacemakers, prosthetic limbs, stents, and operating tables manufacturers will pass on to patients $20 billion over the next 10 years.

The ObamaCare High Medical Bills Tax
$15 billion additional taxes from out-of-pocket medical bills. Every American can deduct medical expenses that exceed 7.5% of adjusted gross income.
Obamacare raised the level to 10% meaning these deductions won't be allowed unless they are more then 10% of adjusted income.

The ObamaCare Flexible Spending Account Cap
$13 billion more in taxes that at least 24 million Americans will pay because they were able to set aside up to $5,000 before taxes for medical expenses.
After Obamacare up to $2,500.
This is especially onerous on special needs tuition that used to be covered.. now cut to $2,500.

The ObamaCare Surtax on Investment Income
$123 billion from capital gains tax increase and dividend rates. Wonderful eh??
Well most of these are from 401Ks, mutual funds, pension funds all hitting average americans!

The ObamaCare Medicare Payroll Tax increase
$86 billion from an increase in Medicare tax for employers.

Who said Obamacare wasn't going to cost anything to cover the 8 million that truly need coverage?

Who said Obamacare wasn't going to cost anything to cover the 8 million that truly need coverage?

actually it's like 700 billion in new taxes, in addition to the 716 billion he stole from medicare.

Not possible. Obama promised we wouldn't see taxes go up 'not one dime.'

Dimes...who said anything about dimes. This is not the march for dimes, ya know. This is the march for billions....... And didn't you hear.... its NOT a tax.

Fox news didn't write Obamacare... they just report what the biased MSM won't!
Just because you don't want to accept the facts doesn't alter the facts!

And at some point some Congress members that voted "YES" for Obamacare will have to admit:
They thought based on EVERYONE's concurrence there were 50 million "uninsured" and Obamacare would take care of most of them.

BUT IT WAS A LIE!
When 10 million counted as "uninsured" are actually NOT CITIZENS why were they counted?
14 million who were counted as "uninsured" -- but they ARE COVERED BY MEDICAID!
18 million under age 34 who spend out of their OWN POCKET an average of $1,000 for medical expenses they don't have a need nor WANT health insurance --- but they were counted!
42 million counted as uninsured wrongly means there are less then 8 million!

There is a simpler solution other then destroying a $100 billion tax generating industry, putting 400,000 people out of work which is in Obama's own words:"I happen to be a proponent of a single payer universal health care program.” meaning putting 1,400 companies out of business!

We already had health-care for everyone. The Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA) is a U.S. Act of Congress passed in 1986 as part of the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA). It requires hospitals to provide care to anyone needing emergency health-care treatment regardless of citizenship, legal status or ability to pay.

The Obamacrats just hit the middle class with the largest TAX increase in history for no reason other than government can spend your money better than you can spend it yourself. We already had free national health-care. Democrats are such stupid tools. They are even happy about this TAX! Yes TAX, SCOTUS said it was a TAX!!!!!!!

The average Democrat: "NO NO NO!!! President Obama said...."

2013 rolls around

The average Democrat: "How can this be? Former President Obama said..."

February 2013

The average Democrat: "President Romney is going to kill us all!!!"

March 2013

The average Democrat: "Holy crap!!! I had no idea! Thank you President Romney for saving us stupid people from the disaster that was former President Obama"

Of course, those here on this board who support President Obama are too busy still wanting to take it up the ass by the President and most Democrat elected officials.

BOY am I glad you mentioned EMTALA!!!

I've written about how this was such a good intention in 1986!
You forgot thought the STICK over hospitals head... If the hospital took Medicare they had to take care of the patient!

AND this is what has lead to hospitals sometimes MARKING up by 6,000% their claims for services to Medicare! For example some hospitals performing CAT scans bill Medicare a
$2,635 YET The services COST the hospital:$43
A 6,127.91% markup!

All because of "good intentions" but the snowball rolling down the hill has exploded!

By the way tell me what city you live in and I'll tell what your largest hospital is OVERBILLING Medicare!

Which hospital in Cincinnati? If I had to guess, it will be University Hospital.

Can't believe the left wing nuts are still falling for the same crap. Do they ever learn?

I don't think the GOP and their supporters can get their yarns straight about Obama or anything else. This thread is a perfect example. According to this thread it's $257B in new taxes (insert punch line here) due to the ACA. According to the Governor in this unedited clip from PBS; its $500B

The Governor goes on to say that the ACA cuts Medicare by $500B (insert second punch line here). Which is funny because his campaign says it cuts Medicare by $716B according to CNN...

The Romney campaign has fired back, claiming that Obama has cut more than $700 billion from Medicare to pay for his health care law.
"When he ran for office he said he'd protect Medicare, but did you know that he has taken $716 billion out of the Medicare trust fund, he's raided that trust fund, and you know what he did with it? He's used it to pay for Obamacare -- a risky, unproven, federal government takeover of health care," Romney said Tuesday on the campaign trail in Ohio.

They can't even keep their fantastic stories straight. Which amount is supposedly cut?
Anyway, So what exactly is the Romney plan for Medicare? The Governor isn't sure. No shit. He's not finished with his plans--it's freakin' August.

I looked on his website and here is what HIS WEBSITE says:

Frequently Asked Questions About Mitt’s Plan

What are the immediate effects of this plan?

This plan has no effect on current seniors or those nearing retirement. It will go into effect for younger Americans when they reach retirement in the future. Sounds like the Ryan plan until you read the following

How is this different from the Ryan Plan?

Shortly after Mitt presented the proposal described here, Congressman Paul Ryan and Senator Ron Wyden introduced a bipartisan proposal that almost precisely mirrors Mitt’s ideas. Unsurprisingly, the Obama administration immediately rejected the proposal. Mitt has applauded the Ryan-Wyden effort and looks forward to working as president with leaders from both sides of the aisle to implement meaningful reforms that will preserve Medicare for future generations. Almost precisely mirrors..Gee wonder what is different? You'll notice the Governor didn't include an age at which you'll stop receiving Medicare as we know it and you'll start receiving vouchers that may or may not be accepted by doctors... But it gets even more unbelievable...

How high will the premium support be? How quickly will it grow?

Mitt continues to work on refining the details of his plan, and he is exploring different options for ensuring that future seniors receive the premium support they need while also ensuring that competitive pressures encourage providers to improve quality and control cost. His goal is for Medicare to offer every senior affordable options that provide coverage and service at least as good as what today’s seniors receive. Lower income seniors in the future will receive the most generous benefits to ensure that they are able to get care every bit as good as that provided in the current Medicare program.
It will be September next week and he's working on details...

It's hard to imagine a party so muddled, so unclear about anything in it's communications, so disorganized in thought and with such a strange and amateurish campaign being waged so close to election day. It would seem that there is ample ammo to be fired at the President. Instead they're using it to shoot off toe after toe.

Today for example, the GOP was in Michigan. The only poll that conservatives believe is Rasmussen apparently and even that poll shows the Governor down by 6 percentage points. He lost Michigan when he said that GM should be allowed to go bankrupt. Yet there they were in Michigan today. Can these morons read an electoral map?

Somehow, the Republican insurance plan of "let him die" just never caught on.
