Obamacare: Deal with it

obama killed the class act, obama put off the employer mandate, obama threw the waivers, obama has now decided that somehow some way the feds will pony up $$ to keep the congress and staff out of obamacare......

CLASS was repealed by Congress, the annual limits waivers were authorized by Congress through this year (after which they won't exist), the statute requires that Congress and staff get coverage through exchanges which is obviously going to be satisfied, and the administration delayed the employer reporting requirements in line with transitional relief that's been provided in the past.

Keep expecting repeal or defunding. It amuses those of us who live on Planet Earth.

That does not change the fact that majority of Americans don't want it. Plus, the court called it a tax for which Adolf Obama said it wasn't

There was realistically only one way to ever get rid of Obamacare and punish the president for the SCOTUS ruling. Reminder of how that turned out:

]

Past performance is no guarantee of future returns.
I remember how the Dems were going to sweep the elections in 2010. Didnt turn out that way, huh.

Still holding on to 2010.....

I guess it is for the best. That memory is going to have to last a long time

do you know what an argument in mitigation is?...see above....

and you are engaged in a mischaracterization that I will call it a lie since you're apparently so up on the bill and the machinations in the health care world;

And now the White House is suspending the law to create a double standard. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) that runs federal benefits will release regulatory details this week, but leaks to the press suggest that Congress will receive extra payments based on the FEHBP defined-contribution formula, which covers about 75% of the cost of the average insurance plan. For 2013, that's about $4,900 for individuals and $10,000 for families.

How OPM will pull this off is worth watching. Is OPM simply going to cut checks, akin to "cashing out" fringe benefits and increasing wages? Or will OPM cover 75% of the cost of the ObamaCare plan the worker chooses—which could well be costlier than what the feds now contribute via current FEHBP plans? In any case the carve-out for Congress creates a two-tier exchange system, one for the great unwashed and another for the politically connected.

This latest White House night at the improv is also illegal. OPM has no authority to pay for insurance plans that lack FEHBP contracts, nor does the Affordable Care Act permit either exchange contributions or a unilateral bump in congressional pay in return for less overall compensation. Those things require appropriations bills passed by Congress and signed by the President.

so it appears to me, he needs to create and go to congress to pass the appropriate legislation to make this carve out legally viable........and to think you had the balls to make me out to be some kind of Grinch becasue I have a Cadillac plan and was concerned that my costs would rise....

A quick look at the total premium for self-only coverage in federal employee plans shows that they're generally higher than most of the total premiums for self-only coverage in DC's exchange.

So the idea that's cheaper to pay for 75% of an FEHBP plan than it is to pay for 75% of a D.C. Health Link plan is just silly.

Quoth the ACA: "the Federal Government [that would be OPM, as they're the ones responsible for managing federal benefits] may make available to Members of Congress and congressional staff with respect to their service as a Member of Congress or congressional staff shall be health plans that are...offered through an Exchange established under this Act (or an amendment made by this Act)."

They have to choose from exchange plans but those still function as plans made available by OPM with respect to employment.

Your concern is that you'll have to pay for the costs of your plan, not that they'll rise. I agree that would be unfortunate for you.

so you're saying that the wsj snippet is.........inaccurate? :eusa_eh: and I think you're stretching the fed. gov. ( see the bold) applying the bills strictures in this context.

I love that it's always "Greenbeard is saying" vs "WSJ is saying" with you guys.

The prices of FEHB coverage options are available. The prices of DC exchange coverage options are available.

Use your own fucking brain.

hey if you're to bothered to answer, don't fucking answer.... and that doesn't answer/address my question/remark......:eusa_shhh:

go back to post 169, hello.

it appears to me if what you described is true or applicable, then nothing would have had to be done, obama would not have needed to parachute in....

We also have a cadillac plan and our premiums have gone down. We also got two refunds.

Why is it that costs are going up but only for the rw Obama haters but not for libs?

Further, how come Obama haters' doctors are quitting while the lib's doctors are figuring it out and glad to be getting paid?

And, how come some Obama haters say this is a big gift for insurance companies while one hater posted that Aetna is leaving CA?

tis a reel brain flosser all right.

Bet they could figure it out if they would stop screeching and start reading.

Somebody convince me that Obama won't apply Obamacare in an unequal manner.

It appears according to precedent that Obama will pick and choose who gets to skirt Obamacare and who gets stuck paying the bills, according to their political party of course.

You're already convinced and the concrete has hardened.

In point of fact, our health care is already meted out by the insurance companies according to who can pay. Those cannot pay or do not want to pay simply go to the emergency room for the Ronnie Ray-Gun Socialist Special.

IF you are able to pay for your own insurance, you're just gonna have to. Buck up, man up, pay up and quit this incessant whining.

Funny you castigate Reagan for "socialism" while applauding Obama for more of the same.
That's because you're a...um...a...yeah...a...
Retarded political hack. Yeah, that's the ticket.

I don't know what you're addressing......the bills states that as of midnight 2017-18 a huge excise tax will be levied on plans over a certain threshold, approx. 10K for individuals and 27 K per family in todays numbers.

I am not alone in my concerns either;)

maybe you need your headgear flushed...
