For those who believe the right wing myth but are willing to actually study the issue ...

CBO: ‘Obamacare’ cuts deficit « Bankrate, Inc.

You may have seen a few election-year TV ads that claim President Obama's landmark health care reform, aka "Obamacare," will add "trillions" to the federal deficit.

Turns out they're off by, well, trillions...

...Since states now have the option to accept or reject the government's offer to pay 100 percent of the initial cost to expand Medicaid, the CBO estimates that 3 million fewer Americans than previously expected will gain health insurance coverage under health care reform.

As a result, taxpayers will save about $84 billion between 2012 and 2022, when an additional 30 million Americans will have been added to the health insurance pool...

... As for those efforts in Congress to repeal the Affordable Care Act? The CBO estimates they would boost the federal deficit by $109 billion between 2013 and 2022.

From a link within your own article:
The CBO estimates that the Affordable Care Act will cost the government $48 billion less through 2021 than previously projected. The revised estimated net cost – $1.08 trillion, down from $1.13 trillion, over the coming decade – mostly reflects lower estimates for subsidies and tax credits necessary to roll out the planned state health insurance exchanges in 2014.
New CBO numbers on Obamacare « Bankrate, Inc.
It’s not so hard to be budget neutral when you start collecting the tax long before you start providing the “benefit”.

Here’s an idea – collect the $1.08 trillion, repeal Obamacare, and then you will be able to reduce the deficit by.......$1.08 trillion! Another spending program does not help to reduce the deficit; it only makes it that much more difficult to get the budget back in balance, because taxes can only go so high. Only liberal math allows you to say we can spend another $1 trillion and add that "it reduces the deficit by $48 billion".

Great idea.

Then yu can go back to waiting in line at the Emergency Room cuz you know the D's will pay your bills.

WHERE do you fools think that money comes from?

rw's have shown they really suck at basic math but how about you compare the costs of ObamaCare to the cost of underwriting the care of uninsured patients at hospital er's. Year after year, births, abortions, illegals and the rest of the Great Unwashed - all those you hate - Who is paying for their care?

Hint: Not rw's. That's for sure.

Know how I know?

cuz, they're in line at the ER.

Really? I thought the topic was federal spending and deficit reduction. Please provide a link to the CBO study that concluded that emergency rooms visits would be reduced and the savings it estimates will be realized in the process; does it offset the $1 trillion in costs? And as far as the "Great Unwashed", I wasn't aware that the ACA was designed to prevent "illegals" from accessing emergency rooms, nor that those who pay the penalty (sorry, TAX) for lack of coverage would be denied access.
As far as "waiting in line at the emergency room", I've been there twice in the last ten years, and never waited more than 15 minutes. You see, when they discover that you actually have good insurance, they seem to get you in immediately.

Wow. There's a lot you don't know.

ACA is not available to illegals. LOOK IT UP.

What you are also unaware of is that the R "health care plan" is the same as the SOCIALIST system we now have and that was hatched and signed into law by a REPUBLICAN. LOOK IT UP.

EMTALA gives free health care to those who choose not to pay. As I'm sure you already know, those who cannot afford to buy health coverage will not be penalized. If you don't already know this, LOOK IT UP.

If you currently have health care insurance, then it will be quite easy for you to save quite a lot on it. LOOK IT UP.

Quit demanding that someone else hold your hand and give you the info you ask for.

LOOK IT UP.

I see. You "don't know" would have been an acceptable answer. I am only asking you to support your claim that "rw's have shown they really suck at basic math but how about you compare the costs of ObamaCare to the cost of underwriting the care of uninsured patients at hospital er's. " Since you made the claim that there is a comparison between Obamacare and the cost of emergency room visits, you should be able to support it, but apparently you can't.

As far as the ACA "not being available to illegals", I never said it was. However, it also does not prevent them from continuing to seek and receive care in emergency rooms, as can those who choose not to purchase health insurance but could afford to.

You're correct, though; there's a lot I don't know about the ACA, much like those who voted for it but didn't read it.
