Now he is attacking U.S. Soldiers wallets. I am against this measure. He is suppose to be helping the soldiers, not hindering them. The military is our first line of defense and I don't think that they should have any burdens put upon them by their Commander n Chief, especially their healthcare.

The Obama administration on Friday threatened to veto a defense appropriations bill in part because it does not include higher health care fees for members of the military.

“The Administration is disappointed that the Congress did not incorporate the requested TRICARE fee initiatives into either the appropriation or authorization legislation,” the White House wrote in an official policy statement expressing opposition to the bill, which the House approved in May

He's working with his consort. She wants the military on a diet, he's going to make sure they don't make enough money to eat.

Oh, but the military works for him personally. They should be honored that he thought about them. :cuckoo:

I am so glad I no longer wear the uniform under his command.

    boo fucking hoo.

If you people couldn't drape yourself across the martyr cross of soldiers you'd have nothing to do with your idle hands.

Do you agree that these patriotic soldiers should have their TRICARE fees increased putting a burden on their income? They have after all taken a oath to protect and possibly sacrifice their lives for your freedom.

The program is aimed at military retirees, in order to wean them off of TRICARE and get them to participate in other programs (also in the bill) so there are more resources for active duty.

They are a part of the American club as everyone else so, sure. Again, you can spare me the plastic concern of the "for your freedoms" bullshit. If none of us are impervious to making an effort to redirect economic woes then, as it seems, so too will the military have to adjust their relationship with Tricare.

And, before you launch into some stupid fucking tirade about a lack of appreciation for the military, I married a Staff Sargent and it was Tricare, in fact, that covered my recent bout with colon cancer. Guess what, we actual military families will survive beyond your cut and paste preening.

    true story.

I don't necessarily have an issue with this just yet. One, i don't know what they're already paying so my opinion could change based on that, but I don't automatically have a problem with raising their premiums. Military spending is out of control. It is by far and large our biggest expenditure so the costs need to be reined in. All the rest of us are paying more for our healthcare plans. I don't see why military families should automatically be exempt.
