The threatened fiscal cliff is due to spending cuts. Defense contractors laying off, less money into the economy, higher unemployment

It's worth it if actual cuts to the budget are the result. The net result will be all to the good.

Both Bush Sr. and Clinton cut the defense budget all through the 90s, and the result was spectacular growth, so why wouldn't that happen this time?

The GDP of the United States was virtually the same when FDR croaked as the GDP when he was first inaugurated. He didn't grow the economy one iota. All he did was convert it into a military dictatorship.

There's been an offer on the table for some weeks now and the pubs are still refusing to discuss or counter offer.

Obama doesn't need to give in to their bullshit hostage crap this time. The offer he made is good and its time for the pubs to get off the golf course and get to work.

Idea - we could cut some of the debt by docking their pay for every day they don't work FOR the people of the US.

Just as it doesn't suck right now for the 'good' Americans but it does suck to be a "persecuted minority".

The only demographics that are demonized these days are Caucasian men and Christians.

Everybody else is a 'protected class'.
