Obama: Largest Monthly Deficit EVER- Larger Than ENTIRE 2007 Yearly Deficit

February? When was the Republican House sworn in?

You know, the house that controls the purse strings??

...and when have they been able to pass any spending cuts?

The Dems are threatening to shut down the govmint if they do.

You are naive. The GOP doesn't want to cut spending. They had 6 years to do so under Bush.

They're merely posturing, knowing their bluff won't be called.

And if it happens it will be the Statist Dems that force the issue.

Oh yes...I mean, we CAN'T possibly cut the budget and stop funding Sesame Street or Planned Parenthood who pay their execs over $300,000/year!!

Is that why they voted to cut $100 billion for the remainder of this year alone?

Is that why they floated a bill to return the unspent stimulus money?

GOP 5 years ago aren't the GOP of today. Haven't you been reading what's happening in Wi. Although....it does look like the dems are still the same as they were 5 years ago. Strange that......

You remade my point accidentally. The GOP can talk about cuts and blame the Democrats for not going along because the Democrats still have the presidency and the Senate. 5 years ago that was not the case.

I happen to remember when Eric Cantor spilled the beans, back in January, with this little ass covering caveat:

“We as Republicans do not control this federal government—the other party does,” Mr. Cantor said Friday.

You made my point....that was 5 years ago when republicans had control. Today, it's different, republicans want to cut spending today, just ask Rand Paul.

Oh....yes the dems still control the power......Senate and Presidency.

They did it knowing it wouldn't pass.

Remember Boehner and Cantor fighting their asses off trying to keep an unnecessary defense spending project going, because it affected their back home special interests?

that's the real, same old business as usual GOP hiding underneath all this big talk.

You're learning about how government works. Good for you.

So which fiscal year are we talking about, Skippy?

And I wonder if SKIPPY can 'splain to us why the Statist Democrats didn't give Obama a budget that led us to where we are now? :eusa_whistle:

Blaming Republicans (whom weren't in power) to commence in 3...2...1...

Barack Obama told Americans Saturday in his Weekly Address,

“We need a government that lives within its means.”

But, that was Saturday.

Today we found out that Obama’s February deficit topped Bush’s Deficit for all of 2007.

In February the Obama Administration posted the largest monthly deficit in US history.
The Washington Times reported.

The federal government posted its largest monthly deficit in history in February at $223 billion, according to preliminary numbers the Congressional Budget Office released Monday morning.

That figure tops last February’s record of $220.9 billion, and marks the 29th straight month the government has run in the red — a modern record.
Barack Obama tripled the national deficit in his first year in office. In his second year the deficit was again a record $1.29 Trillion. This year the deficit will be even higher.
Only a CON$ervative would be stupid enough to believe that crap!!!

Bush's 2007 spending deficit was over half a TRILLION dollars. Over 400 billion of it was OFF BUDGET!!!!!!! Only a CON$ervative is STUPID enough to believe OFF BUDGET deficit spending is not deficit spending! :cuckoo:

Obama's first budget was LESS than Bush's last RECORD budget deficit of $1.41 TRILLION. As you unknowingly point out Obama's FIRST budget, which ended in his second year, was 1.29 trillion.
