They've already served their purpose for both sides. If we know who they are they don't present much of a terrorist threat. As long as they were high ranking and their buddies wanted them back, we have to assume that the Taliban could use their services. And you need to remember that three of them have already been caught trying to get back into the fight, with a good chance the other two will at the first opportunity. NOT GOOD.Perhaps you can explain the actual value of the terrorists who were exchanged. How much value do they have after they've been interrogated? And won't their terrorists buddies be wondering which of them has been turned by the Americans? If it comes from FOX News it doesn't count.
So, tell us why we should accept your alternate universe.....
The DOD will not release all the info......Use multiple news sources. Nobody reports on everything. No, because all the facts are not available for the public....
Not for us if they're heading back to the fight. Of course, the Taliban would probably say it's working for them.So in other words, it's working...As long as they were high ranking and their buddies wanted them back, we have to assume that the Taliban could use their services. Hate to burst your bubble, but that's a really dumbass statement. We knew who Bin Laden was, and that didn't prevent 9/11, did it?They've already served their purpose for both sides. I wonder what some of these same hypocrites would say if Democrat Senators were trying to negotiate with a foreign power. I'm pretty sure the Constitution leaves foreign policy decisions to the Executive branch of government. It's up to the Congress to approve new treaties or not, they can provide funding or not. Beyond that Congress has no role in determining foreign policy. They look pretty stupid writing letters to Iran. It's like the Iran plus 6 delegation negotiating with Iran, these RWer's lie out their ass to make a buck and stoke the fire of hate....Precisely.No, because all the facts are not available for the public....
And where did he go after 911? Did he hold public victory celebrations? Was there a Bin Laden parade when we weren't looking?Hate to burst your bubble, but that's a really dumbass statement. Encouraging your enemies, or looking weak when negotiating as a ploy, could be either...I wonder what some of these same hypocrites would say if Democrat Senators were trying to negotiate with a foreign power. Good point. It probably would be a good idea for our military to just shoot any terrorist they catch up to, like they did Bin Laden. That would make it a little harder for Obozo to give them back, since there isn't much of a market for dead terrorists. How long was Ben Laden in prison?Hate to burst your bubble, but that's a really dumbass statement. Except it's illegal, just like the suspension of habeus corpus to allow Boosh to hold these people forever without trial....Good point. No that's just a really stupid idea, General. Unless your purpose is to never gain any new intelligence on the enemy.Good point. Democrats in Congress did try to negotiate with a foreign power. A bunch of them went over to Syria to hold negotiations before Bush left office. That is not unusual as it has been done in the past by both parties, but since it is war they should have shut up and sit down...Democrats in Congress did try to negotiate with a foreign power. All the Republicans in the Senate did was send a letter to Iran stating Obozo had to get with the on the deal, and Obozo has even signed off on that (after the Democrats joined the Republicans in telling Obama he needed adult supervision).
If you want to look at it that way, OK. But Obama should have still kept them until the Taliban surrendered and the war was over. That's pretty much common practice when dealing with POWs.No that's just a really stupid idea, General. Unless your purpose is to never gain any new intelligence on the enemy.Good point. No, I don't recall. Perhaps you can educate me as to the details. Was the Congressional visit to Syria approved by the State Dept?Democrats in Congress did try to negotiate with a foreign power. True.... We were actually fighting two wars when the Democrats did that.
