Washington • Among the many ways Republican members of Congress are contemplating to punish President Obama for his executive actions on immigration is a proposal of elegant simplicity: They would refuse to invite him to the Capitol to give his State of the Union address.

Yes, that should do the job. And if this doesn’t force Obama to back down from his executive orders, Republican lawmakers can escalate by unfriending him on Facebook and unfollowing him on Twitter. If even this fails, they can take the extreme step of having their Christmas cards from the Obamas returned to sender. Surely, the president then would have no choice but to relent. . . .
Republican members of the panel continued to rail against the policy but Johnson declined to be drawn into an argument. He didn’t have to: Obama had already won.

Well they've got to do SOMEthing.

After all, they have failed in their efforts to sue and to impeach.

We knew that Boner and the RINOs were Obama supporters. Now's the time to liquidate them

Seems kind of harsh to not invite him

Besides, if Obama does not give the State of the Union how could we get all of those witty Republican counters to the State of the Union from Bobby Jindal and Marco Rubio?

Guess we'll find out in 2016 if Obama won anything or just kicked his Dems in the Balls.

Most Americans want illegals out of our country they sure don't want to give them amnesty or anything else.

Obama is so awesome he destroyed his party in the midterms on a historic level. Obama is doing so well he is the least trusted President in US history. Obama is doing so well that the vast majority do not agree with how he has gone about the immigration issue. Obama is doing so well that the vast majority do not agree with his escalation and start of new wars.

Obama is doing so well that the old Obama didn't even agree with how the current Obama is doing immigration, foreign policy, transparency or social policy here at home. Dems got duped like Reps did under Bush.

Obama is doing so well more people fear he is headed in the direction of a dictatorship than people feared Bush was doing...

You could not be more wrong. Every poll shows that a vast majority of Americans want to give amnesty to illegals.

80 percent want either a path to citizenship or some kind of legal status given to illegals. Even a majority of Republicans support amnesty.

Even the retards at GOP HQ can read the handwriting on the wall when it is that big. Time for a healthy serving of Will O' The People.

The will of the American people:

What Americans Want From Immigration Reform in 2014

At present, 62% of Americans favor providing a way for immigrants who are currently living in the United States illegally to become citizens provided they meet certain requirements, while 17% support allowing them to become permanent legal residents

Poll Roundup Majority of Americans Support Immigration Reform With Citizenship

  • 88% of Americans support allowing immigrants to become citizens
  • 83% of conservatives support allowing immigrants to become citizens

  • 87% of Americans say they would vote for a pathway to citizenship for those who pay taxes, a fine, and wait 13 years.
Other polls that do this also find GOP support for this combination.

WSJ/NBC News Survey
July 17-21

  • 44% of respondents would blame Republicans in Congress if immigration reform fails, while 14% would blame Democrats

I'm really getting tired of how badly Republican leadership is playing this out. You can't defund non-deportation. But that's what they're getting ready to do, thinking that it will force Obama's hand to deport people.

Believe that until the Latinos kick our GOP in the gut in 2016.

Your rant, most of it, is something from tremors delirium. Sober up.

The immigration point is that we in the GOP can do nothing about it. Jeb Johnson demonstrated that when he had the oversight committee laughing at Jason Chaffetz' stupidity about the EO.

Let sleeping dogs lie, buddy, because the Latino uber chihuahua will bite our GOP in the balls in 2016 otherwise.

Americans lose with the Dems and the far right both.

Let the mainstream GOP govern and it will win easily in 2016.

Thats certainly not what I've been reading.

There will now be a few million new voters (who will, of course, vote Democrat in lock-step). We're fucked. I just hope the house of cards doesn't collapse until after I'm dead.
