Obama and the dems got zip in this deal despite all the crying

Entitlement cuts are in, the hated BBA is still in and no new taxes. Essentially this is the House bill that Reid decried.

Tomorrows votes should be interesting. The tea party has changed the course of debate in this country for the next 10 years. Good thing....

Lets see a reference for entitlement cuts are in.
i hate the word entitlement.funny how libs love to bite the productive hands that feed them.....INGRATES!!!!:eusa_whistle:

Jilly doesn't grasp the obvious fact that she IS a wingnut.

:cuckoo:

No....

she's pissed and acting out of character. She knows her party didn't nominate the right candidate. The last couple months is proof of that.

pissed isn't the word. i'm incensed.

and you know where i stand on most issues. however, regardless of whether we nominated the right person, the insane derangement of the right has been out of hand for the last two years.

But Jilly's insane derangement is perfectly A-OK in her mind. :cuckoo:

Sorry, elvis.

She IS a wingnut.

Yea this looks a lot like Boehner's Plan. However keep in mind, the BBA is only required to be voted on but not passed. So Boehner won somewhat. But the big Win for the Tea Party and Republicans is the fact Taxes wont be jacked. This President and Socialist/Progressive radicals lost big time on this. But this deal overall doesn't do much to address our staggering $16 Trillion Debt. These "cuts' don't even add up to a drop in a bucket. Just another Shit Sandwich being shoved down the American Peoples' gullets. So i can't really celebrate.

Actually, Democrats saved PELL grants for college students, saved Medicare, and kept the disabled and children from being thrown under the bus by the GOP.

Not such a bad deal, except for the GOP. They have needy rich friends who need even more money.

Yeah, the T-Party cut the military & will cut it again at the end of the year, abortion free funding, more funds for children programs, and free birth control for women. The big social programs weren't touched. I think the socialists are having an affair with the T-Party!! LOL!:eusa_angel:

What will be important is articulating the 'success' and why it falls short, not enough reps in either house to overcome the liberals. Need a new executive to lead the way of both the people and a vision for the future.

One of the criticisms from the right on this plan I keep reading is that the liberals might change parameters and tax increases down the line. Answer to that is stop whining and start explaining to the constituents why we need more cuts sooner than 10 years. This should be considered the end of the beginning, not the end in itself. Get the election, win big, then fix.

Good points. The Republicans are pretty limited in what they can achieve. They control a portion of the House of Representatives only. The Democrats still control the Senate & White House. That's why i say the Tea Partiers need to be a bit more patient. They got some Wins on this Debt issue. Were they enough? No,of course not. But sometimes you have to take what you can get. Hopefully in 2012 things will change. If the Republicans can regain some real power, they can then move towards fixing things. And i do have to give props to Boehner for pushing the BBA. I really do think the man tried very hard. I think he did what he could. The Tea Partiers should cut him some slack. This just isn't the time for the Republicans to make any big changes. Hopefully this will change in 2012 though. I guess we'll see.

What are you talking about? Obama got exactly what he said he wanted the debt ceiling raise.

I still haven't seen any real evidence that the rest of us got anything we want. EI major spending cuts or a balanced budget amendment, or eliminating baseline budgeting.

Yep.....BO got his slush fund and spending money for the coming year....before elections...and no more debt ceiling problems until way after elections...which is EXACTLY what he wanted...

He also gets his tax increases one way or another.....either via the Bush Tax cuts expiration or through the Commission proposing a tax increase to make up for the shortfalls....of course this will happen during December (Christmas time) when nobody is looking...

Republicans got what.....?
a few inconsequential bucks trimmed off the ever-increasing Debt.....?
a Maybe on the balanced budget amendment....?
a lesser cut on the Defense department....?

a stupid Speaker who can crow about making a "Deal"....? :eusa_hand:

Sure they have. Except the Bush era tax cuts are still set to expire at the end of next year. So I guess in your mind returning to the tax rates in place before the Bush tax cuts is not really raising taxes, it's just returning to a fiscally responsible position right?

Your dear leader brought about the tea party through his reckless spending. He brought us to this point. And contrary to your over reaction the tea party has held no power till this point. Your anger is misplaced and your reaction is comical.

Bullshit. The President brought this about by simply looking black and getting elected. The derangement began as soon as it looked like he might defeat Hillary. You should thank GW casus after that mess any democrat would have defeated anyone the Republican ran.

Nobody got anything, really, except the TP and Pubs did get to grandstand and stall the recovery for ANOTHER month...great job, un-American tools...Pffffft!

As long as obamanomics remain in play. There will be no recovery.

I know, I know

The stimulus will kick in any day now, then the summer of recovery begins.

Could you guys at least have stated what decade?

No, it's a tax hike. Just more of the class warfare nonsense that seems so appealing to the less intelligent among us who for whatever strange reason think al ltheir problems are the cause of some evil, rich bogyman.

So raising the debt ceiling is going to start an economic recovery?

Funny, but didn't Obama run on a platform of fiscal responsibility and balanced budgets? Now the only plan he has is borrow borrow and borrow some more?
