obama allows Brazil to drill in the gulf never mind about the ban

you ask why when you show a gas guzzler on you post ?

Obama burns more fuel per hour with Air Force 1 than Infidel will burn in 3 years........ and he and Hillary keep cruising the world...... I guess when he made fun of MCain for not being in the 21st century, he didn't really understand what it meant.

If you are so concerned about fuel burn, tell Barry and Hillary to park their planes and use the forms of communication that are now available in the 21st century.

you are really a dumb ass . air force 1 ? are you kidding ? how much does our air force burn in jet fighter ? you want that stopped too ?
you whiny bitches complain about everything he does .
let me ask you this , what country are you the head of ?

The Air Force actually have a job flying aircraft and besides, all the branches have cut back tremendously on the flying, simulators are used much more extensively.

Barack Obama is the one that has preached to us about a so called, addiction to oil, he is the one that claimed MCain was out of touch with this century. He is the jerk that jumps on Air Force 1 to fly 150 miles to speak to a bunch of asswipes he can see everyday in Washington(his "historical" first flight in that aircraft) in Williamsburg, Va.

I was at Bush Intercontinental Airport when he came in last year to read a speech at the Bush Library. He flew into Houston and then boarded one of 5 helicopters that were brought here on 2 C5As, 2 more C5s were used for the limos and secret service vehicles. The speech and hanging around was about an hour, he flew back in the helicopter and immediately left to go back to Washington. 8 hours minimum for the round trip......... 20,000 gallons of jet fuel for Air Force 1. The 4 C5s and helicopters were at least another 100,000 gallons of jet fuel, that is probably pretty conservative. All of that for a lousy hour long stay at a library that nobody wanted to see him at.

He was suppose to do things different, smarter than previous Presidents........ he is full of shit and just another lying, hypocritical politician.

If Obama fails we win.
And by "we" you mean the GOP.
Thank you for admitting you are the lowest form of political hack. The kind of Party hack that wants Americans to suffer so their Party can score political points.

No way, the American people win.

You still have no idea what this guy is up to. His energy secretary, Steven Chu, wants gas prices at European levels, somewhere around $8 or $9 per gal. Obama and the left are conducting a war on fossil fuels in the U.S. They've put vast domestic reserves completely off-limits.

His information czar thinks it's okay to influence the public by infiltrating blogs and message-boards and redirect discussions using "experts" that can't be directly linked to the White House.

He has friends and associates have been planning economic terrorism using college students and unions. Stephan Lerner, the organizer of this plot, has recently paid visits to the WH. For evidence Google Stephen Lerner.

Calls have been made to the DOJ and the FBI. Nobody in the Obama Administration will investigate this plot, and any questions that require answers have been ignored.

So much for obama wanting America to be independent of foreign oil.

Brazil don't need permission from Obama to drill. In the gulf?:clap2::clap2: Gulf of Mexico?
Wanting to be independent is far from being independent. We will never replace oil. We will run out and still not have a replacemen.
Smart move by Obama to be in Brazil because it will be a source of cheap oil and we need cheap oil.
Brazil is sitting on a huge oil reserve that needs to be developed. US off-shore companies could not afford to keep their rigs sitting out there in the gulf not doing anything. The big ones cost about $250,000 a day to have on site. Keeping those rigs out there doing nothing might be considered economical for a government like the US but not a private company. Other countries have picked up the leases on those rigs. They are gone.

Brazil don't need permission from Obama to drill. In the gulf? Gulf of Mexico?

OK but obama did give them a permit, which makes it worse.

US off-shore companies could not afford to keep their rigs sitting out there in the gulf not doing anything.

Why aren't those American oil rigs doing anything? Could it be because they haven't been issued a permit?

Many of them left after a couple of months because they didn't want to go broke.

i can understand the moratorium taking place, and i am glad it has been stopped and we are starting to issue permits...

yes, it is moving slow....but it should go faster now that oil drillers have a plan to not allow another BP like spill.....

we need to drill, and we need to take every precaution we can, to prevent drilling from spoiling our natural resources....[/QUOTE]

Just curious, but what IS that plan?

The one company in which BP was their biggest holder owning nearly 50 pct. They're "plan?" It's been in place since September...2009.

So they haven't changed it at all since the spill.

You folks in the Gulf of Mexico are going to just love this! Since the BP oil spill 11 months ago, the Obama administration has only approved 1 of 107 permits filed to resume drilling for oil in the Gulf. Apparently, the two things we need most here in America, jobs and oil, are not priorities of Barack Obama. However, he has approved allowing Brazil′s Petrobras, their large oil company which is partially owned by Obama supporter George Soros, to conduct deep-water oil drilling in the Gulf of Mexico. How wonderful is that?

George Soros
Did the Obama Administration approve deep-water drilling for Brazil Petrobras in the Gulf of Mexico because of George Soros (on left)?

According to the Houston Chronicle (see link below), the recently formed Bureau of Oceanic Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement, BOEMRE, approved the plan on Thursday, just one day before President Obama began his 5-day vacation to Brazil. Petrobras will build the floating production, storage and offloading vessel, FPSO, about 165 miles off the Louisiana coast at a point known as the ′Walker Ridge′. The vessel will not only drill and produce some 80,000 barrels of oil and 500,000 cubic feet of natural gas per day, but also store up to 16 million cubic feet of natural gas. Petrobras ‘owns’ the drilling rights to the area called the Cascade, and two-thirds of a neighboring area called Chinook. The rest of the Chinook oil field is owned by French oil giant, Total. The drilling depth for this project is some 8,000 feet, far deeper than the BP-TransOcean 5,000 foot deep well that polluted the Gulf last year.

Earlier this month, the Department of the Interior, which oversees the BOEMRE, approved it′s first off-shore drilling permit to an American company, Noble Energy based out of Houston. They′ll be drilling about 70 miles from Venice, LA in 6,500 feet of water. Meanwhile, some 106 other U.S. drilling permits sit in bureaucratic limbo as oil and gasoline prices skyrocket.

So is there any particular reason why Brazil′s Petrobras was given permission to drill by the Obama administration over many American companies? Why Petrobras is being allowed to use a new technology, the FPSO vessel, in the Gulf of Mexico at a time when residents of the region are still suffering from the BP oil spill last year? Does it have something to do with George Soros, a major campaign contributor and political ally of Barack Obama, owning a large stake in Petrobras? Inquiring minds want to know!

In April 2009, Ex-Im Bank approved a $2 billion preliminary commitment to secure the purchase of U.S. goods and services by Petroleo Brasileiro S.A. (Petrobras), Brazil's national oil company. The amount of a final commitment may be increased above the $2 billion preliminary amount. Petrobras anticipates that it will invest $174 billion in development over the next five years. Potentially, Petrobras purchases financed by Ex-Im Bank will help create and maintain over 507,000 American jobs.

So far, Ex-Im Bank has approved one final commitment under the facility, a request from JP Morgan Chase, acting as lender, for a medium-term credit guarantee facility in the amount of $300 million. This facility will be used to finance the company's general purchases of U.S. manufactured oil and gas equipment and services. To date, there has been no request for a long-term final commitment under the facility.

CHARGES AND FACTS:
Charge:The U.S. government is giving away more than $2 billion in taxpayer dollars to Brazil’s largest oil and gas company to drill for oil in Brazil.

Fact: The Bank has approved a preliminary commitment to lend up to $2 billion to Petrobras for the purchase of American-made goods and services.

The funds will go to American exporters as payment for their sales to the company.

Of note, the Bank is self-sustaining and no taxpayer dollars are involved. So far, Ex-Im has approved a $300 million credit facility to finance their purchase of U.S. oil and gas equipment and services.

Charge: The loans to Petrobras represent a giveaway of U.S. tax dollars.

Fact: Ex-Im is a self sustaining, independent agency which operates at no cost to the taxpayer. In fact, since 1992 the Ex-Im has earned and sent to the U.S Treasury more than $4.9 billion in fees and interest earned by the Bank.

Charge: America is exporting jobs to Brazil as a result of the loans.

Fact: Only American made goods and services qualify for Ex-Im Bank loans or guarantees.

Ex-Im only supports U.S. jobs by providing financing to ensure that American goods and services can compete on a level playing field against foreign competition.

Charge: The loan to Petrobras represents a reversal of the Obama Administration's policies on off-shore drilling.

Fact: The Bank's bipartisan Board unanimously approved the preliminary commitment to Petrobras on April 14, 2009, before any Obama appointees joined the Bank. In fact, at the time the Bank's Board consisted of three Republicans and two Democrats, all of whom were appointed by George W. Bush.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce's own history of itself describes it as originating from an April 12, 1912 meeting of delegates.[4] The Chamber was created by President Taft as a counterbalance to the labor movement of the time.[1].

So, the EX IM seems to work sort of like the chamber.
