Typical. People like you are so blind from the true meaning of things like this. The artist is simply saying we might as well have monkeys (or chimps) write the "stimulus" bill since the dumbass' in congress seem to not think logically. But instead, becuase the cartoon goes against obama and his socialist ways, they mark it as racism. I'm sick and tired of the race card.
RACE CARD????????
Look you taintwallow , that is a racists way out of NOT facing the FACT that this cartoon DID offend people.
Now that they are offended you call them LIARS.
If you used this same tact when someone said your wife looked like a whale you would not be married for long huh?
i wouldn't call them liars for being offended, just stupid.
obviously, you're offended.
That doesn't mean he meant it in a racist way. That chimp was in the news up there, so he more than likely wasn't thinking from a racial angle.Jeesh, unless you all know what was in the guy's mind as he drew the cartoon you've no idea if he meant to be racist or not.
I'd go with unintentionally offensive to some.
Bullshit.
If this guy REALLY did not understand how some would take this cartoon ( and reasonably so) then he should find another job because he doesnt understand his own market.
Are you trying to tell me that every time I think of a chimp I have to keep in mind that mentioning a chimp might offend black people?
bwahahahahahahaha! That's racist.

How about this guy taking some damned responsibility for what he created.
If this cartoonist and editor were truely SURPRIZED that people might take offense at referancing the first black admin as monkeys then they should be working elsewhere ....like ..... maybe McDonnalds.

Yes it is racist and those that deny it is are full of crap.
The person who drew this can not do what he does for a living and not realize the impact this would have on some and the editor is an idiot if he didnt realize it.
People were offended by it so they were just fucking wrong huh?
Now that people are offended what do they do? They call them liars.
When you offend someone and then tell them they are lying about being offended you are a complete piece of shit.
If you feel so strongly about it write to them and complain. How about this guy taking some damned responsibility for what he created.

Of COURSE that politcal cartoon was racist.
More to the point and far more distrubing it showed POLICE shooting the POTUS.
If you're not offended as an American, why not?
POTUS didn't write the stimulus bill, ed. congress did, remember?

the whole purpose of editorial cartoons is to elicit a response. it's too bad you can't figure that out. do you think there's ever been an editorial cartoon published that wasn't designed to offend someone?
granted, the fact that people like you are stupid enough to equate it with racism is a bonus, but i'm sure they knew going in that some would be offended by it. that's their job, dopey.
That's probably exactly what he had in mind.Of COURSE that politcal cartoon was racist.

Murdoch said the cartoon was intended only to "mock a badly written piece of legislation."
Of COURSE that politcal cartoon was racist.

Me, I don't think people should be so afraid of offending others that the second guess everything they do, or keep a list on their computer of what may and may not offend someone. Hope to God I don't mess up today and say the word chimp aloud.

All of human society is set up with people being affraid to break the norms. As a society we get to PICK what they are. I want a society that finds racism aborant along with child beating , rape , murder, talking about sex in front of children, wishing death on people who disagree with you and a few others. I like the idea that insulting people because of how they were born being in that grouping.
Why do so many others here not think that is one issue that is worthy of societal scorn?
Of COURSE that politcal cartoon was racist.
