For context:
America in it's conflict with Viet Nam our dead totalled about 58,200+ over at least 8 years.
Russia invaded Ukraine in late February of last year.. about 21 months ago.

Clearly, Russia is not being strengthened by initiating this war. The Brits also report that 7 Russian Generals have been killed at the front.
(no mention how many flew out of windows back home)

This number of casualties is insignificant except for the political impact that they may have on the Russian people & Russian politics. It's doubtful that they'll have much on an impact politically since Russia is a dictatorship, and Putin doesn't care how many Russians are killed.

The U.S. suffered 81,000+ casualties in the Battle of the Bulge alone. 20,000+ casualties on each side at Gettysburg.
