Not to alarm anyone but...

At any rate, none of this has any bearing on the capacity of middle eastern terrorist elements to acquire biological weapons from rogue states anywhere in the world with the intended purpose of destroying the bulk of humanity

Actually, it sure does if "rogue" nations are assisted by people like France or Russia. -And who pray tell do they collectively form?

Rogue Nations:

Cuba
North Korea
China (not so rogue, but I don't think they'd mind the company)
Iran
Syria

and possibly a handfull of other countries.

And yet, as I stated in the original post, the threat I describe is not a difficult one to assemble.

Terrorists could simply hire a Soviet geneticist/microbiologist, and buy equipment for them from a variety of legal and illegitimate sources.

Any and all equipment could probably be bought, by mail, in any first world country. All perfectly legal.

The seed stock, on the other hand, might be more difficult to obtain, or perhaps not depending on their strategy.

If they wanted to work to modify HIV or Ebola, it wouldn't be difficult to kidnap sick people from Africa to acquire a source of seed stock.

Not that I believe much of this stuff, but the Bible Code (which predicted 9/11) is saying there will be a chemical attack in NYC in the summer of 2004.

Just tellin' ya. Not saying I believe that junk.

While I agree that it is junk, just wondering if anyone else has put the fact that the Republican National Convention is in New York in the Summer of 2004.

Also, i am aware of this threat. ive seen 12 Monkeys.

I think we have alot of challenges in the future, We will continue to meddle in the world. We have to. If we dont more Hitlers will arise and we will have to spend more lives and money then we are right now to stop them.

However, while you guys are worried about the EU and Terrorists, i think we have bigger problems. Socialist Democrats. We have severe internal problems that threaten the Constitution and American society. The nation will continue to divide, although i dont think it will be among fifty fifty lines. I think the conservatives have the momentum. Which will drive the socialists nuts. There are radicals on the left, and they are in power. John Kerry is a radical. He was in the 60s and he still is now. This is a serious problem. especially with the way these people hate Bush. If Bush is reelected, and with the landslide he is almost guarrenteed to be reelected with at this point, these guys are likely to go militant and we will have a civil war on our hands. I almost thought they were going to go militant after Gore lost. Can you imagine what will happen when Bush wins again?

That is the serious problem. we have to deal with the radicals of the 60s and their offspring, atleast the ones that truly havent mellowed. These people think anarchy is freedom, that right is wrong and wrong is right. I think we will see civil war within the next 20 years. i sincerely hope im wrong but I see the signs. And if we have internal conflict, we will be weakened for any terrorist or EU attack.

So why i am worried about the 12 Monkeys attack, im more worried about civil war at this point.

My hope is that people will finally get sick of the 2 party system and a viable 3rd party will emerge. The dems of old had many great ideas as did the repubs. Politics now is a business, not a true representation of the populace. Why does it seem we are always standing in the voting machine asking which is the lesser of 2 evils? Is the best the democratic party can serve up is John "The Undertaker" Kerry? He is so far to the left that he doesn't represent the true working class ideology. GWB has many beliefs that are too far to the right for my tastes. When it comes down to it, I have to vote for GWB. Not perfect, but at least he's taking the fight to the terrorists instead of trying to coddle them. All the domestic issues that the dems claim the moral high ground on won't matter if our country is attacked again.

I think it's safe to say that the "Silent Majority" probably falls right down the middle on most cases. But the day will come when we're sick of being taxed to death, being told by politicos what is right and wrong, and that we should all go to church on sunday.
