The US government is a joke. Long gone are the days when senators and representatives went to Washington to make laws that where important to those who put them in office. These days the good of the people is not even a consideration, its more important to vote on legislation that profits special interest group or a major campaign contributor. Illegal immigration and drug smuggling continue to be an issue our government tiptoes around. We should deploy troops to our borders and employ more aggressive tactics to stop illegal crossings, and aid ICE in the apprehension and deportation of illegals living and working in the US. Lastly the US should impose trade embargoes on Mexico until they take an active role in dismantling human smuggling rings and drug cartels. What makes Mexicans think that tax paying US citizens should just except higher medical costs, higher insurance rates, increased crime rates and lower wages if they can find a job not already held by an illegal? The American public needs to stand up and force our government to take a strong stance on the issues that directly impact its residents right here in our own backyard.

Try and force a sovereign country to act as America's border patrol....

Try and force them to police the same region that was scandalously robbed through the same process of illegal immigration you whine about now.

Try and use economic blackmail to force them to do the job THAT BELONGS TO THE INCOMPETENT US FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.

The US is already fast being replaced by China as Latin America's main economic partner... So chances are the only thing you'll get is speed up the whole process : )

That statement is rediculous. There are many ways to smuggle drugs. I know. I used to do it. There would be just as much illegal drugs imported into the USA with or without Mexicans. No Mexicans "MAKE" Americans consume drugs. They don't bring drugs here "hoping" stupid Americans will fall victim to drug abuse. The drug users are already here. Why not eliminate a step and apply the pressure directly on the US government by, let's say, throwing rotten eggs on Obama and Pelosi?

My plan does not bank on what politicians will do so much as what Mexicans living in the US will do. The minute the US government sides with Americans against Mexicans, any war with Mexico will be a victory for the American people against Mexicans themselves no matter what side of the border they are currently on.

I am trusting that the Mexicans believe that all they have to do is riot on American streets for the American people to back down. This will be Mexico's biggest mistake for every general in the US military will demand that Mexico be bombed as the US will not be able to tolerate an enemy country as a neighbor. Mexico would lose 100% of it's business with the US and go bankrupt overnight. Latin American countries might put up a fuss, but they all know they could never survive a nuclear attack and would back down.
