No time for delay on climate change, says Clinton

Warning that time was running out on climate change, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has asked countries like India, China and those in EU to show urgency in implementing agreements on transparency, funding and clean energy technology to address the issue.

Clinton noted that China and the US are the world’s largest emitters of greenhouse gases and their cooperation at the UN climate conference in Mexico was critical to the conclusion of the Cancun agreement.

“Now, we must build on that progress by implementing the agreements on transparency, funding and clean energy technology,” she said delivering the first Holbrooke Memorial lecture here yesterday.

“We would ask that China embrace internationally recognised standards and policies that ensure transparency and sustainability,” Clinton said in her speech that focused on US-China relationship. If the warming is such a crock then why are we asking China and India to do this?

Inner Mongolia's coal output reached 782 million tonnes last year, making it the nation's largest coal-producing region for a second year running, local authorities said Friday.

The output accounted for about 24 percent of China's total and was higher than neighboring Shanxi Province's 741 million tonnes, the coal mine safety administration in the northern autonomous region said in a statement.

Inner Mongolia, with the country's largest proven coal reserve of 732.3 billion tonnes, has set an annual production target of 880 million tonnes for this year.

It saw its coal output soar from 114.5 million tonnes in 2002 to 637 million tonnes in 2009, overtaking China's decades-long biggest coal producer Shanxi.

Going up, up, up... Coal Output in China's NO. 1 Coal-producing Region Hits 782m tonnes in 2010

No surprise.............its the standard line for those who like to promote wealth redistribution

China is growing at 10.1 percent in 2010...There going to wind and sun power sure, but coa remains king. I expect a huge increase in emissions of around 400,000,000 tons this year. We are going to stay with A1F1 it appears...:eusa_whistle:

And all the leading climatologists in the world wave their hands and declare that water vapor is a positive feedback without the slightest idea if their correct. The evidence that we do have implies it's a negative feedback, so there you go. Yet again they haven't a clue as to what they are doing.

1# Water vapor is a green house gas 2# It releases heat through its phase changes. I say it is positive.

More moisture in the Atmosphere keep the more heat within the Atmosphere and tinier temperature changes throughout the year.. More clouds at night=warmer temperatures too, so in the arctic could see the most warming through this. Venus has a very thick Atmosphere, but the green house effect makes it over 430c warmer then it would be.The clouds trap the heat....
