New York city, a blue, democrat party controlled city, will have National Guard and State police sent to their subway system...

As Dennis Prager points out.....everything the left touches they destroy.....

The democrats have destroyed their cities, and they have crippled their police departments...to the point they now have to resort to National guard troops to keep their subway safe...

The democrats will gradually use troops against civilians more and more...

You do have to give her credit. When she reverses course, she goes all out. Deploying the National Guard and surging the State Patrol into the subways is a big move, although it sounds rather dystopian. They won't just be making their presence felt; they will search subway riders for weapons.

There will be 750 members of the New York National Guard and an additional 250 personnel from the State Police and the M.T.A.
They will be working with the New York Police Department to make sure no weapons are brought into the subways.
It leads one to wonder...is this reversal just about fighting crime, or is it something more? Cracking down on criminal behavior can be accomplished without using the military to search citizens on their way to and from work, right? It's not like this has been standard practice during more peaceful times.

You can support the police and crack down on criminals without turning the city into a police state.

Hochul has embraced other police state tactics, which lend some credence to this concern. Last year she announced the development of a monitoring system to keep track of New Yorkers' social media activity.

I bet you dollars to donuts that "certain" young gentlemen will refuse to be searched.

And the cops will back down.

(Some years ago on the subway here in Los Angeles, a cop asked a "certain" young man to see his ticket. The young gentleman said, "You aren't asking others." The cop wisely backed down.)

I say this all the time - no one should be surprised.
Liberals operate off of idealism. They will make decisions based on their idea of how it should be, not how it is... and they will reject and demonize those that say truth if it doesn't agree with what they believe something should be.

Leave it to the Dems to mess up crime control again...

In the name of Criminal Justice Reform, they defunded police, instituted no cash bail for most crimes, and greatly reduced prosecution.

Crime predictably skyrocketed.

All passengers now subject to random searches...

Great job New Yorkers. You get what you vote for. Got yourself a real police state now. Stopped by law enforcement without reasonable suspicion, "voluntary" search without probable cause.
