Imagine the response If someone was to tell a Republican in 2005, that 18 years down the road many of the Republicans would be so adamant about supporting a war machine in Russia, and a corrupt government under a Russia autocrat.

There is lots of corruption in the Ukraine, but Shokin was not the source of any of it.

Proof of that are the economic sanction they imposed on Russia, Iran, etc., which are totally illegal. The 1906 Geneva Conventions made economic sanctions a war crime, and the US ratified it.

The goal of getting Shokin fired was to protect Burisma Holding in their illegal takeover of the Ukraine. Their goal was not to get Shokin fired. They just needed to get Shokin fired so their crimes would not be exposed.

It would make more sense for Russia to just nuke the US first and get all over with.
That way at least the US would then be in as bad of shape as Russian, instead of a first strike capability taking out Russia without allowing Russia much if any of a retaliatory capability.

Do some research. The Calls to get rid of Shokin came after two of his deputies were caught with millions in diamonds and foreign currency.

When did Ukraine agree to be in Russia's defense grid? When Russia crushed Ukrainian independence in 1922 and inflicted a famine that killed millions? When Ukraine voted for independence from the USSR in 1990? When Ukrainians threw out the Russian puppet in 2014? Seems to me that Ukraine never agreed to be inside Russia's defense Grid.
