Nearly half of Americans who are knowledgeable about the attacks on U.S. outposts in the Middle East approve of President Barack Obama’s handling of the crisis, compared to only a quarter who approve of GOP nominee Mitt Romney’s comments on it, according to a poll released Monday.

Only 26 percent of those following the news in the Middle East approved of Romney’s statements about the attacks, compared to 48 percent who disapproved, according to the Pew Research Center for People and the Press. As for Obama, 45 percent approved of his actions, and 36 percent disapproved

"That is no reason to ignore – or totally replace – “the story”. And anyone who doesn’t realize that has no business reporting or blogging whatsoever. Save the “OMG, a politician dissed another politician” for a slow news day. And the way things are going in this country, there is no clear sign of a slow news day coming anytime soon. There’s a story here, and it’s being ignored by people who wouldn’t challenge President Barack Obama and his White House if their lives depended on it. And, ironically, their lives may depend on reporting “the story” instead of their worthless “Romney piece”. It’s absolutely maddening and totally ludicrous that they are ignoring “the international story”.

You could also put it this way, less than half of Americans polled approve of the president's response to embassy attacks.

The far right crazy wacks here demonstrate they are far right crazy wacks. 75% of American knows they are full of crazy wack.

The numbers hold well for Obama. His 48 to 49% holds true, and Romney's are about 1/2 of that.

The point is that Romney will now give up the foreign policy attacks because he has been shown to simply not to be able to play with the President without getting the be-jesus kicked out of him.

Economics and the economy, as I have always said, is what he should be working on 100% of the time.

Not the culture wars, not foreign policy, not immigration, not the drug wars.

Economics, economics, economics.

He will have a chance if he does that. However, if he pisses of the under classes while doing it, Obama is going to win easily.

My Republican Party should have won this 62 to 38. Look at us. Good heavens, we have done this to ourselves. The Dems have simply stood back and laughed.

Exactly. And we are not talking about how he handled political game playing but a terrorist attack. Bad numbers for Obama.
