CDZ Nationalized Healthcare

Did I say food should be free?

Its essentially the same way though, if you need food and do any paperwork, you get food stamps. Need a kidney and do any paperwork....

Foodstamps are for the needy. We have Medicaid for the needy. Are you saying that Foodstamps should be for all just like Healthcare?

Foodstamps are for all. If you are ever needy, apply for food stamps. Ever need a kidney applybfor medi-whatever or just see if the hospital takes the bullet out before running your card.

Foodstamps also help the wealthy. They help keep the needy from having to kidnap and ransom off my kids to feed their needy stomachs. Would I modify the program? Sure. I'm happy we have it instead of mot having it though.

So why do you support healthcare for all but not foodstamps for all? Rich people don't need free healthcare? I don't follow.

Because I think the kinder christian folks will never go for hospitals throwing ppl who can't pay right then and there out on the streets.

So we may as well admit we have it and charge folks up front through forced medical insurance rather than pretend and then never get a dime from them.

But you think these same christian folks would not care if someone starved? I don't follow.

We're going in circles. The same christian folks make food stamps available to the
needy.

Again why foodstamps for only the needy and Healthcare for everyone? You’re doubletalking and avoiding the question.

Why force health insurance on everyone but not food stamps?

Correct. Why force one and not the other? My question to you.

I never understood the need for massive one side fits all national programs. I have no problem helping those who need it, food stamps, but why for the life of me should there be wasteful, huge plans targeted at a great many people who have no need for it. This raises the price of care, lowers the effectiveness of care, and destroys the ability of those who can actually provide decent care from the opportunity to do so. It never made any sense to me.

In a way its semantics.

We all pay taxes to support the food stamp program. Only a few, hopefully, qualify to use it at any time but its there for us all.

We all also, in my opinion have had socialized medicine since hospitals were worth going to, so we are just forcing everyone to pay for health insurance. Why? The majority of us are gonna either need to pay huge medical bills eventually or hope we die in our sleep. At any one time hopefully just a few of us need our health insurance but oh boy, when we do....

Hopefully my logic is clear on both.

Nationalized medical insurance is not free. That's a silly idea and anyone who thinks it is being proposed shows himself ignorant of the basic facts. If such a person wishes to stop looking like a fool, he should read Medicare for All: Leaving No One Behind - Bernie Sanders carefully and then debate the facts.
I prefer to solve simple poverty, and let consumers purchase what they need; we subscribe to capitalism.

Not everyone needs foodstamps. Means testing may be the best place for foodstamps.

Health coverage can be very expensive. Some insurance program can help mitigate those costs.

need based programs. preventive medicine can help lower costs.

depends on implementation.

The medicaid system is already quite good. This seems to be a good example of need based safety nets that works, like food stamps. It seems reasonable to only use taxpayer money on need based safety nets. Again, what is the rational for creating giant systems that eliminate choice, competition, and effectiveness?

So are you advocating for system that helps those when things go catastrophically wrong, or for the giant system that manages every ailment of every person? Does something currently kick in for cases like cancer?

How about we have a problem the Ancient Greeks did not have. It is now possible for a 50 year old man to go to the doctor and POSSIBLY be cured by some medical procedure no one can afford. He'll never have put that much money into his insurance either.

SO, someday instead of inventing new treatments, we'll have to streamline the treatments we have. Break that to the people who want their cancer cured and to live at any cost.

(BTW, I'd be one of them!)

That's the bait and switch at the core of the "health care reform" movement. They make a lot of noise about how poor people can't afford health care. And that's a real thing. Something we should all care, and do something, about.

But once they get you on board, it becomes clear that what they really want is centralized, national control of your health care. Of you.

I'd say capitalism is equally cold in regards to healthcare. I remember a day about 15 years ago when I took my cat to the vet she seemed tired and out of breath. They decided to keep her over night to do this or that. Some nurse called overnight to say they'd spent about $700 on whatever and asked me if I wanted or could afford for them to continue.

I buried that cat down by the lake w/o spending another $.

With a purely capitalistic system and no socialism in healthcare that day would come when my bad brother in law's doctor would call me and out would come by shovel again.
