CDZ Nationalized Healthcare

And after you finish with the OP's issues, maybe you can explain how our current health system (the number of doctors, nurses, hospitals, etc) could possibly handle all the new people accessing free healthcare. I assume you realize that every nationalized HC system in the world today has access problems where people have to wait for months to get certain treatments. You know, like our VA system is today.

Is not feasible. Would proponents please explain:

  1. Why it is necessary
  2. How would we pay for it
Thank you
1. Because someone mentioned the word free in relation to it.
2. Federal income tax would need to go up to 45% or higher. I have suggested to start out with 50% then if it turns out to be cheaper a tax cut could be given. Hard to get one tax increase then another.

Some crazy people think that dropping the military would magically pay for it. Socialist Bernie estimated that it would cost only 1.5 Trillion a year. Other more reliable sources claim 2.8 to 3.2 depending on source. Considering that the total U.S. tax income was approximately 3 Trillion. One can see very quickly that it could not be afforded without a major tax increase. Something that belies the "free" monicker.

Task0778 is correct that you could expect healthcare standards to go down. It could take a month or more to see a specialist. Up to a year to have elective surgery. Private or semi-private rooms would be a thing of the past. General patient care would drop considerably.

Health care was already nationalized under Clinton and more so under Obama. Trump is powerless to roll it back.

No. There is no "clean debate" on healthcare. The entire subject is incredibly sick, morbid, abominable, putrid, and disgusting.

I hate that hospital smell. The disinfectant never quite covers up the noxious smell of disease and hospital-acquired infections.

Its necessary because our hospitals don't just throw ppl out on the street. Ever since hospitals became worth going to we've had socialized medicine. We just are in denial.

We are going to pay for it by any means necessary. Folks just might have to decide between I-Phone 23's, keeping their I-Phone 18, or letting grandpa have that stem cell grown kidney.

I don't follow your logic. What?

1) Because it is claimed as a "right" (clearly demonstrating that leftists have zero grasp of what the word means and implies).

2) You kidding?..."Free" medical care would save so much money that we could then use the machinations of the state to make certain that everyone has a 2,500 sq. ft. house to live in, while eating steak and lobster every meal!

The hospital treats you before you pay, then they don't get their kidney back if u don't so we have had socialized medicine.

We also buy all kinds of pointless new things so we have some time tobgo before medical costs threaten our ability to buy food.

Did I say food should be free?

Its essentially the same way though, if you need food and do any paperwork, you get food stamps. Need a kidney and do any paperwork....

Foodstamps are for the needy. We have Medicaid for the needy. Are you saying that Foodstamps should be for all just like Healthcare?

Foodstamps are for all. If you are ever needy, apply for food stamps. Ever need a kidney applybfor medi-whatever or just see if the hospital takes the bullet out before running your card.

Foodstamps also help the wealthy. They help keep the needy from having to kidnap and ransom off my kids to feed their needy stomachs. Would I modify the program? Sure. I'm happy we have it instead of mot having it though.

So why do you support healthcare for all but not foodstamps for all? Rich people don't need free healthcare? I don't follow.

Because I think the kinder christian folks will never go for hospitals throwing ppl who can't pay right then and there out on the streets.

So we may as well admit we have it and charge folks up front through forced medical insurance rather than pretend and then never get a dime from them.

NHS reports average ER wait times from 45 minutes to over an hour. US ER wait times are 15 minutes to 45 minutes. Nuff said.

But you think these same christian folks would not care if someone starved? I don't follow.

Where? The shortest time I have ever waited was a bit over four hours. I waited with my dad in a county hospital for 36 hours.

You republicans need to stop saying "free healthcare". We all know it's not gonna be free. We will all share the costs.

That is average wait times however, when you are in an ER emergency care is prioritized for the most emergent health/injury issues. If one is in an ER waiting for treatment and an ambulance pulls up......Prepare to wait longer. Nationalized health care will be worse because the ER will be packed before one even gets triaged. Throw in an accident with multiple injuries and, well......bring a sleeping bag.
