Just a little, but I have a question...
Why does one's sexual orientation have to be mentioned in a death announcement?

Perhaps to reinforce the fact that not all talented musicians are white/heterosexual.

If I were to mention Ozzy's drummer, Randy Castillo, I would include the fact that he was an Apache.
