The Star Scientific Breakthrough | Star Scientific Limited

Sounds very interesting. Will be glad to see their claimed trial generator coming online in 2012.

Read somewhere a few days ago that the breakthrough has been in the form of finding a way to generate these pions at considerable quantities in a reliable way. Normally it takes hhuge amounts of energy to generate those things, so much that the threshold to make the resulting energy a net gain is almost impossible.

But this guy has been working on the problem for 40 years, quietly behind the scenes and apparently found such a source that pions are easily generated and targetable.

    Very cool.
