Most of Europe Is a Lot Poorer than Most of the United States

Trump is literally copying their strategy on tariffs, you inbred retard.
Even if that’s so, WTF does that have to do with the OP? Is there some socialist agenda Trump is sneaking into tariffs somehow? Either make the link or move on.
Your OP was created to call out Democrats for wanting European policies, but you voted for and actually enacted European policies. Pretty goddam stupid of you, IMHO.
I'm guessing you are talking about immigration and our policies towards it?
I am very clearly talking about tariffs.
Not so clearly obviously, since I didn't get it.
Countries ranked by Tariff rate, applied, simple mean, all products (%)
Just to give some perspective the US tariffs would be ranked number 6 on highest tariffs in 2016 of 41 countries. This is ahead of ALL western Democracies and ABOVE by about 50 percent,of the EU average.
Well isn’t that something

Yea it is really something. Another case were rhetoric replaced actual facts.

“Most European countries (including Germany, Sweden, Denmark and Belgium) if they joined the US, would rank among the poorest one-third of US states on a per-capita GDP basis, and the UK, France, Japan and New Zealand would all rank among America’s very poorest states, below No. 47 West Virginia, and not too far above No. 50 Mississippi. Countries like Italy, S. Korea, Spain, Portugal and Greece would each rank below Mississippi as the poorest states in the country.”

And all you hear from the Left is we need to emulate Europe.
I live in Belgium, making undoubtedly less money then the average American. Care to compare standard of living?
Sure. I’m a middle income man who grew up in poverty and now living in a 6,000+ sq ft home on a lake, retired in my 50’s and owe no man a penny.

How’s your standard of living?
Well. I have my own house, undoubtedly smaller then yours but comfortable nonetheless. drive a Mercedes. Have about 100000 left on my mortgage. I take on average 1 trip to the US for about 2 weeks a year. I can send my daughter to any school I choose (no school districts). Me and my family have access to health insurance. Access that will not go away if I loose my job, or get disabled. I have about 30 days paid leave a year. Paternity leave which allows me to take of 3 months from my job, to be taken before her 12th birthday on reduced pay. Disability and unemployment compensation that would allow me to survive if not with a lot of comfort if I get unemployed. My daughter will further have access to college and a full degree on about 5000 annually. Before that we are talking almost nothing for education.
I pay $350 / Month for health insurance on my own. Because I got to tell my work goodbye forever. My quality of life could not get better. That’s why everyone wants to immigrate to America.

I pay 30. As to wanting to immigrate. Unless you missed it, I didn't. My wife moved to Europe. This whole OP is you trying to establish that Europe is poorer and therefor a crappier place to live. I have actual FIRST hand knowledge about the standard of living in both countries, the thing that you buy with money. I have to say that in that respect I'm better of, both for myself and my family. Don't get me wrong there are definitely things I like better in the US. Nature, something we lack because of high population density being one. The way you guys do a service industry being another, hell even your guys confidence, even when unwarranted is refreshing for someone who lives in a country were being confident is considered being arrogant. But when I see someone ,making a bogus argument on incomplete information I will respond.

I wish you make up your mind. Either the US is superior to Europe or it's a shithole because of immigration, you can't have both.

The U.S.A also has a lot more resources than all European countries, except Russia.

Also the U.S.A didn't have to rebuild from 2 World Wars.
----------------------------- guess that you guys shouldn't have wars eh . And you were probably lucky that it was Americans and My Parents that fed you after ww2 Sob .

Funny thing is Europeans do not have the unhappiness of the money crazed USA citizens. They have very good lives and are in general well adjusted to being in good health and a safe nation/s
---------------------------- Safe Nations until another war breaks out or the muslims decide to become violent as they always do Taxman .

but MONEY , i agree with the money craze among Americans . Modern Americans don't put the love of money in its proper place but i think love of money is a rather modern or new 40 year old phenomenom in my memory Taxman .

Not so much Europe's fault, as Germany's fault.

I'll get you some vids of the AIRLIFT just for grins so you can Thank us Yanks Sob and other forgetful 'euro type' guys and girls Sob .

I watch a lot of YouTube videos on various "maker" stuff (like the latest has been a guy who does resin and wood turnings: pots, vases, etc. before that it was a guy who does wood inlays.) It often strikes me the difference between American and European craftsmen's "accommodations." Like the lathe guy I'm bingeing on lately is in Europe and had no heat in his shop the first few years; great tools, awesome lathe, pressure pots and such, but no 'effin heat in his shop - possibly this one is extra "meaningful" to me and sticks out because last month we discovered our detached garage had a nat gas leak from a rusted buried pipe and we're rushing to replace before snow hits next month. On the other hand there's a younger guy here in the US that I keep up with, he does interior trim work (crown molding, baseboard, chair rails, paneling, etc.,) he cracks me up because he whines like a baby about the cold when he has to cut long pieces in the driveways on jobs sites - not that I blame him personally, working in the cold sucks I agree.

News articles are always hyping "quality of life", but if you look into the metrics of how they determine it the standards they go into are basically "socialist" biased (and often just dumb shit.) Like they downgrade the US for not having nationalized health care (aka free healthcare aka socialism) They downgrade the US for having a large number of "pollution causing cars" - aka environmentalism, even though we've done /more/ than any other nation to cut down our pollution (for example, we get a score of 1.2 out of 10 specifically because we pulled out of the meaningless Paris Accord.) They also use "dumb" metrics like "Sexy" where the US gets 0.5 out of 10 or "Adventure" [Tourism] where we get a 3.1 of 10. I pretty much believe that their metrics are complete bullshit pushed by foreign nations (or American dissidents) who intentionally craft this shit to try to put the US in a bad light and/or intentionally to score EU nations "better than" the US. Most of the crap they judge on is BS that has almost nothing to do with the Average Joe's day to day life ~shrug~
