most improved poster award: The Claytaurus

I haven't a problem with Clay or Bully. In both cases, they write their opinion and are ok with rebuttal. I have a problem with those that flame on religion or politics, thinking they are clever. It includes the right, ala WJ and the left, ala PM or Matts-at least in the past, he's claiming to be 'moderate' now.

I don't read the political half of the board, so all I can go by is the "social" stuff, but I've always thought Clay was a great poster: good taste in music and movies, and intelligent. And, now, I have someone to APPRECIATE my music and movie snobbery instead of trashing it!

PS: I wouldn't say "most improved" poster though, I've always held him in pretty high regard, so there hasn't been much improvement, per se.

Anyone else kathianne? Who else do you deem not as smart as they think they are? Just wondering.

I think you may be smarter than you think you are! Let's tap that unused potential! More. More. better. faster. bigger. value added new and improved

For the record, Howard Dean is an idiot, and I most certainly do not look up to him (or any morons like him).

That's encouraging. So... who DO you look up to then?

Pale Rider...at least he stands his ground and takes his hits like a man...does not cower to those who say they are right! Patton was like this...as was McArthur...some in here are really good at the PC thingee...sorry Clay...you are young and lack real life experience!

Looking up to great men is worship of the competent. Socialism worships the mediocre and subpar and discourages and demeans greatness. This position is consistent with your old self.

The great men in my life are all those who I know personally, who are no less great than any of your idols other than that they don't have recognizable fame throughout the United States and the world. I know it's difficult to believe, but you don't need worldwide recognition to be a great man.

But kudos on however you came to the conclusion that I worship the mediocre and subpar, unless of course you're calling the aforementioned people mediocre and subpar, which I doubt you're doing, since you don't know them.

I'm sure they're fine men. But are they ghandi or reagan? Have they changed the world for the better in a massive way?

There's really no way of knowing, I suppose.

I'll throw you a bone though; if I had to pick one famous person to idolize, I'd start with Martin Luther King Jr., and not in the Jesse Jackson/Al Sharpton kind of way.
