More Communities Banning Casinos

They might ban casinos which will lose them a lot of money. The gambling crazies have on-line gambling and don't need a casino.

I don't gamble. I don't feel sorry for those that do, get addicted, and suffer because of it. It's like heroin addicts, sorry but no sympathy here. At some point you took that first hit, or made that first bet and musta asked yourself, "Is this a good idea?" If you went ahead with it, you're a moron and deserve your fate.

Self righteous much? You know there is a large segment of people gambling that have no problem gambling in moderation. Just like alchohol, resposible adults all over the country can drink in moderation.

And of those moderate gamblers, how many are in debt? I have no debt. I don't waste my money, borrow money, or suffer from a lack of money.

How many non gamblers are in debt? I am not in debt either. I am responsible enough to know not to lose what I can't afford.

The main point of the article seems to be that small surrounding communities suffer more than they gain.

In a way, I have little sympathy for them. They are adjacent to American Indian reservations, a people suffering for more than a century. A casino raises many of them from poverty, gives them jobs, and changes despair to hope for a better future.
