Mitt Romney Criticizes President Obama For Wanting To Hire More Police, Firemen and Teachers - YouTube

This time, however, Romney deserves points for honesty: He has forthrightly declared that the class of government workers holding back other Americans does include cops, firefighters and teachers. And in so doing, he has singlehandedly reframed the debate from one over despised government bureaucrats to one over whether we should hire more cops, firefighters and teachers to get the economy going. This is a debate the White House will be happy to have.

Mitt Romney: We don't need more cops, firefighters or teachers - The Washington Post

    -----------------------------

Wow, the problem is policemen, firemen and teachers.

Now it's clear why Republicans worked so very hard to keep health care from the first responders. Now, the right wingers at USMB can't possibly say that's not true.

As usual, "rdean" makes a feeble attempt to pass off OPINIONS as facts.

As usual, "rdean" takes outrageous liberties with "context", and makes up his own "facts".

    Yawns............................

We don't need more teachers, we need to get rid of the bad ones and replace them with good ones. As for firefighters and police ... That's a state and city and county issue, each will decide what they need based on their personal demand

We don't need more cops firefighters and school teachers paid for with federal tax dollars. Romney is 100% right. Those positions are state and local governments responsibility. That's what is so disgusting about the stimulus in the first place. Once again the feds sticking their nose in where it does not belong. Let cities hire their Cops Firefighters and Teachers. If you ask me there are way too many federal agents running around with guns anyway. When I was growing up you never saw a forest ranger with a sidearm and a shotgun. If Obama stopped worrying about government workers maybe he could of paid more attention to the economy and we wouldn't be in the national mess he has us in. Bill Clinton said it best... "it's not right to have so many unemployed and underemployed Americans getting up every morning and looking in the mirror only to ask themselves what it is they are doing wrong". Oh! I just heard that Obama is going to four fundraising parties tomorrow. How nice for him. Air Force One will be burning gobs fuel for that I expect.

I agree, some states, counties, parishes, cities, towns, and villages may, some may not. Obama's comment concerning the private sector being economically "fine" DID need to be retracted. Romney jumped of course, had he waited a day or so, then noted both the flub, and the explanation" would had a greater impact.

The jump on Romney is unjustified.
