"Republicans in the Missouri legislature continue to reject reason, logic, the law, empathy and common sense regarding Medicaid, the federal-state program that provides health insurance for the poor. The state’s voters voted to expand Medicaid last August. The state’s constitution requires the state to provide Medicaid coverage for eligible Missourians. Expanding Medicaid would cost about $1.6 billion, according to the bill. Of that, only $103 million would come from the state’s general revenue.

Even Gov. Mike Parson’s budget provides for expanded Medicaid. He knows the money is there. If even money were tight, though, lawmakers still have no choice but to spend the cash, because the state constitution now requires coverage for eligible Missourians. They’re turning down billions of federal dollars. They’re ignoring voters. They’re violating the state constitution. Why? Because they hate the poor. There can be no other explanation."

This is a brilliant move by the Missouri GOP and no, it is not because they hate the poor -- it is because they love the working class and they love America...and the best way to help the poor stand up on their own two feet is by not giving them handouts like healthcare. Giving these people government healthcare would be worse than slavery; just look at the disaster Medicare is now; nobody wants it; no real Americans want it at least. The Republican healthcare plan is far superior [even if one doesn't exist yet] and as soon as they implement it; the voters of Missouri will soon forget about Medicare or any other Democrat plan.

As for going against what the voters wanted or violating that state's Constitution, so what? Just because the majority of voters voted for something or just because something is written on a piece of paper doesn't make it right...Years from now, these republicans who stood up against this bill will be seen as liberators and patriots; not corrupt politicians who hate the poor.

You should see how they are dragging their feet on the medical marijuana industry, it was okayed n 2018 by voters and we are just now getting weed and dispensaries.

O poor baby, can't get your weed? Do what what you did before, Buy from friends or grow you own.

Medicare is very popular so I'm wondering what we call the country from here on out since there are so few "real American's".

These elected officials need to be voted out of office.

They work for the voters not an ideology.

How do you manage to squeeze in so multiple big lies in such a small space doll?

Prog politicians and adherents have ideas about limiting medical care to seniors. And of course it would be popular. The massively inflated bills are paid by the government. Keeping an aging person alive for their last month of life if struggling for survival can be a million dollars or so. The whole industry is a business over care for the patient.

I vote against them every election and somehow they keep staying in office.
Didn't the last election teach you anything? It is all predetermined by Dominion. You do not think that people actually continue to re elect people like Pelosi or McConnel or Schumer

I was shocked to find out how much the VA stiff care givers in the Community Program for vets to go outside the VA for care. A surgery room charge of $2,600 was paid $260 by the govt. for a shot in me spine.

Find the lie....

Dominion wasn't the main voting machines used in Missouri....so you will have to find someone else to blame it on......

Medicare and Social Security are the two most popular government programs ever.

So no matter what you will just blame it on voting machines and not the fact that maybe the voters in Missouri are not sociopathic like you are?

They are only popular with fake Americans....not the real Americans in the heartland and at diners and stuff
