On Monday, Mike Ditka proved his conservative ignorance when he declared there has been no one oppressed in the United States for 100 years. Ditka, like other conservatives, cannot understand why players are protesting. To Ditka’s mind, there has been no oppression in this country for over a century.
Ditka is the perfect example of the obtuse conservative Trump voter. They live in their cloistered world, totally unaware of what is really happening to others. As long as conservatives are happy, everything is just dandy.
Of course, conservatives are NOT truly happy, just ask any one of them. They will tell anyone who will listen, there are too many lazy black people stealing from them. Too many illegal immigrants taking away their high paying jobs. We all know their bullsh!t story by heart, it hasn’t changed since Reagan first told it.
Mike Ditka is one of the millions of conservatives who managed to stay away from the poor working class most of, if not all of his life. His association with black people has been limited to the football field. He’s never worked beside a member of a minority in a blue collar position, or seen the preference employers in most states give to white workers.
Few blue collar conservatives have worked beside a member of a minority either, it shows in their misguided views. In truth, which conservatives will deny, minority employees are no more, or less lazy than the white employees they work with. White workers just blind themselves to their fellow whities’ sloth.
Despite the assertions of conservatives, black people face hardships completely unknown, or denied by conservatives. Ditka’s stupidity is exactly mirrored by most conservatives, and there is no changing their minds. FOX News and other sources of conservative propaganda reinforce the conservatives’ misinformed views every day.
But, in a rebuttal to Ditka’s ignorance and that of other conservatives, Joe Namath explained the true reason Colin Kaepernick initially “took a knee” during the Star Spangled Banner. Since then, many black (and white) athletes have joined Kaepernick’s protest, to point out the injustice and oppression that’s being done to the black race to this day. It is the injustice blacks face when approached by police, which makes them “legitimate” targets whether they are armed or not. When they are in a neighborhood where officers believe black people do not belong. When the news regularly reports, with dash-cam video, the needless beating or killing of a black person by police.
Conservatives cannot accept this truth and, as usual, deny the facts. But, during the last few weeks of the year, when someone says “Happy Holidays”, you can bet there isn’t a Christian conservative who does not believe he (or she) is being oppressed for their religious beliefs. More proof of the obtuse nature of conservatives.
Mike Ditka is a stubborn old fart, so his views will not change regardless of how many times he hears the true meaning behind the “take a knee” protest. It is beyond the scope of his limited understanding, just as it is for conservatives nationwide.
Namath’s words, while not in vain, will inevitably fall on the obtuse ears of the conservatives.

Conservatives must rate certain posts “funny”. This occurs when they are forced from their alternative reality. But even in the real world their denial of facts remains strong. So, their use of the “funny” rating is their silent admission they know every word and image in the post is true. (Conservatives cannot help but to rate this OP “funny”.
