If the models are correct, we will start experiencing shorter and milder summers in about 1,800 years. They will gradually get shorter and milder for the next 10,000 years and we'll probably experience another Ice Age.

Once the Milankovitch cycle subsides we will begin to experience warmer and longer summers and here is a fascinating detail that you might not be aware of..; the ice will melt.
