Sadly for them, the Democrats ruined that plan by acting ethically. Now their propaganda point about the corrupt Democrats is no good.

Now any calls for impeachment look stupid, because that has to wait on the Special Counsel investigation.

The Republicans never wanted an actual investigation, because they aleady knew there was no wrongdoing by Biden. They only wanted endless bogus hearings that allowed them to lie big. Now that investigation is the Special Counsel's job.

And once the Special Counsel finds no wrongdoing, the Republicans all look like major liars. I mean, even more than they do now. They know that, which is why they're howling now.

Delaware has two (2) United States Senators. Both are Democrat. Regardless of who is President, the choice of U.S. Attorney must meet their approval, period. Nominate someone neither agrees to and the nomination is DOA.

That is how Weiss got the gig while Trump was President, and that is how these things work. Weiss was basically those two Senators approved pick for U.S. Attorney in Delaware.

BTW. This appointment violates the very regulations authorizing the AG to appoint a special counsel.

Why?

The regulations say the person appointed must be from outside the government, and Weiss most certainly isn't as he is a sitting U.S. Attorney.

Not only that; fun fact: The wording of the law says (in a nutshell) that the person chosen for special counsel "must have a reputation for impartiality that is unassailable, and is known for having investigations that are quickly expedited."

Weis's reputation is NOT one of impartiality, quite the opposite, and he slowed walked his last investigation so much that the statute of limitations ran out. AND he isnt someone from outisde the DOJ. What the fuck was Garland thinking? This makes him look even MORE corrupt, which i wouldnt have thought was possible.
