This is a heavily loaded article from one of favourite writers. Makes a somewhat interesting read despite its intense polemic.

James Clapper, former director of US National Intelligence, recently claimed that Russians were “genetically driven” to manipulate and interfere in the affairs of other nations, echoing the Weltanschauung of a bygone dictator who harboured similar views on those “inferior Asiatic” genes.

One would be forgiven for momentarily assuming that Clapper was referring to his own nation. The United States has been warring for 93% of its miserable existence, entailing 222 out of 239 years of bloodshed between its founding in 1776 and 2015. No US president has ever led a continuous peacetime administration.

I didn't know Clapper was dumb enough to make a statement like that.

Anyway, the rest of the article:

Clapper's rant is very easily applicable to the USA.

But we are the good guys, the Ruskis are the bad guys, and in the West that will never change.

That is apparent. He is a mutt. But has he produced any evidence with regards to his Cold War-type allegations? The director of National Intelligence should have investigated the Awan brothers who were allegedly Saudi plants. Perhaps, Clapper is compensating for his failure...

Probaby not, Motti. Let's see what Comey has to say in a couple of weeks.

By next week, there will be a new unsubstantiated allegation which will kick this can down the road. If Trump cannot deliver on some of his promises, perhaps it is due to all this Russia-gate conspiracies thrown at him.

Motti is Russian, xyz

If Yes, then I must be genetically predisposed to be an enemy of "freedom" , eh? Time to revive the good ole Afghan Mujahideen (Taliban) days, I guess to get rid off those pesky Russkies. Maybe, Saudi Arabia can help in this regard....

Actually not all the Mujahadeen became Taliban, but no doubt many did.

Still think the Afghan Mujahideen were the good guys? If the clock was re-wound, would you still go all Rambo and Reagan in support of them?

Of course. Charlie Wilson was right, and Reagan was right in supporting it.

If the clock was rewound, would you go full comrade in 1917? 1945?

In any case, as if to buttress that loaded Opinion piece:

U.S. TAKES DRAMATIC HIT IN GLOBAL PEACE RANKINGS AS RACISM, CRIME AND INCOME INEQUALITY SOAR

The U.S. has taken a dramatic hit in global peace rankings as racism, crime and inequality soar

The United States has plummeted on a global ranking of countries based on levels of corruption, violent crime, racism and respect for human rights.

The Global Peace Index 2017, issued annually by the Institute of Economics and Peace(IEP), shows the U.S declining 11 places in the global rankings to 114th out of 163 surveyed nations.

America is safer than war zones such as Syria —which came in last place—Iraq, Afghanistan and Somalia, which are classified ‘very low’. But the U.S. is only ranked ‘medium’ and appears below Haiti, which has struggled with poverty and violent crimesince Hurricane Matthew in 2010, and Liberia, which is dealing with the legacy of its brutal civil war.
