Cortez needs to learn quickly (actually she needed to learn before now) the old adage that 'it is better to remain silent and let people think you are stupid than to open your mouth and prove them right'.

She reminds me a little of the female version of Barry...except Barry was smarter / more intelligent than she is.

Barry was a Community Organizer and 1/2 Term Senator before being bum-rushed to the front of the line to run for President. As Biden described him once he heard Obama was going to be the nominee, at least Obama was "articulate and bright and clean".
