McConnell offers Obama temporary deal on Bush tax cuts

read 2000 pages of BS and learn for yourself. Your lawmakers decided that they had to pass it to see what was in it.

excise tax on “Cadillac plans”
fees on certain manufacturers and insurers
surtax on investment income
a tax on medical-device manufacturers
a tax on indoor tanning services.

And of course others........

And in the past three years?

In the past three years he raised taxes on the poor and lower income people who smoke .
And he extended the so called Bush tax cuts... Why? Because they work.... And they were fair and across the board. If they expire for only the wealthy then it is nothing more than a tax increase on the wealthy. We all benefited from them under Bush.

For the past three years (hell the past three decades) the problem has been spending, not revenue.

$2.5 trillion and those drips still can't make ends meet?...Gimmie a break.

Okay, I was asking about taxes in the past three years.

Taxes aren't the damned problem...The feds get well over $2.5 trillion in revenue.

They spend too damned much....What makes that so difficult to recognize?

I was talking to Ollie, and he was insinuating Obama is a tax monster. So. That's the subject at hand.

You drop a lot more than 30%. That's just your income tax. You're already dropping 50% when you factor in all the taxes we pay as citizens, and you aren't getting any of that shit you just said you'd pony up for.

We could just hand it ALL over and we'd still be getting fucked.

Or....we could use the brains we have in our heads and do what works in other nations. Our rates are too low. Period.

Ok, well in the US, so far even 50% of our income isn't doing enough to satisfy the left. How much more would you like to have stripped from my wallet before you're happy?

You need to get your numbers straight. Let's talk FEDERL income tax. WHAT RATE DO YOU PAY?

Don't lie.....I know how to catch people who lie about that.

Just like we know how to catch lolberals who divert and talk shit (lies in substance) about cops, firemen, teachers and parks, in the context of federal taxes.

Best clean out your own back yard first, pal.

Let the cuts expire.

That will motivate both sides, I hope, to work together in the new congress.

Letting people keep what's theirs isn't "taking money out of the economy".

And Boiking now owns those "Bush tax cuts"....Punk refuses take ownership of diddly-squat dealing with the economy.

Okay, so why do the Republicans want to tax the middle class and poor, but keep the cuts for the wealthy.

Oh, so the Bush tax cuts that for years the dems and the media told us were for the wealthy only, really were for everyone else too?

well thank god someone from the left finally admitted it...:clap2:

The government doesn't need damn near 50% of my hard earned money to provide me with "the commons".

How about that big shiny military that gives you all that cheap gas?

Don't wanna pay for that either, eh?

I'm sure you know me enough to know that I'd make drastic military cuts if it were up to me.

is that the problem? really? Europe has not had shit for a military since 93,94...

and there are 10's of billions of $ worth of cuts a year already in the cake for the DOD, so lets try some entitlement revamping and tax code change....

Nobody wants what is yours. You are free to live in the wilderness and never use the commons. Otherwise, quit yer bitching and be a patriot.
Wow, that's the first time I've heard that chickenshit argument................................Today.

Besides the fact that you are full of shit and have not heard that argument before just now......when are you going to say something remotely original?

You want the conveniences of a modern industrial society? It ain't free.
You want clean water? You need to pony up.
You want an educated workforce? It will cost you.
Need police to answer your 911 call? Pay them with a smile.
Montana on fire? Tax dollars will help douse the flames.
Don't want your kid exposed to carcinogens in class? Gonna cost you.

Want high school dropouts and illegal aliens to have free health care? Gonna cost you.

Want women cranking out children by several fathers to have welfare? Gotta pony up!

Want a police state which spies on its own citizens without warrants? You need to cough up some cash.

Even though we're living longer, you don't want to work longer? I need your wallet.

excise tax on “Cadillac plans”

Republicans call these 'fees'. You are not required to have a Cadillac plan, therefore it's not a tax.

fees on certain manufacturers and insurers

Fee.

surtax on investment income

You'll have to show me that one.

a tax on medical-device manufacturers

Are you a medical-device manufacturer? No.

Also want to see that one.

a tax on indoor tanning services.

Don't use them, then. It's only a fee if you decide to tan indoors. This is the Republican argument.

And of course others........

Uh huh.

They've been the "Rates" for several years now. The more you make, the higher the percent(rate) of your income you pay to Uncle Sam. Now, if you're fortunate and have saved some money, you can then put that money at risk and invest that money in a stock or a small company, or other form of investment, then you make more money from the money you invested and it gets taxed at a reduced rate(percent) because you chose to put your money into the economy as an investment that someone else could use to grow a business....benefitting us all.

Doesn't affect you so it doesn't count?????

And the supreme court calls it all a tax...Either it is a tax or it is unconstitutional, can't have it both ways....

You're a tool........

How much are you willing to part with then?

I drop about 30%. I'd gladly up that to 50% if it meant that my kids could be guaranteed a college education, my family would be guaranteed access to health care and I never had to see another hungry, poorly educated American child again.

A bargain.

well send all your paychecks to the Government, nothing stopping you.
show your Nobel instead of just babbling about it and leave the rest of US out of it

'...extend the current tax rates for another year with a hard requirement to get through comprehensive tax reform one more time...'

There's the laughline, coming from one of the GOP'ers whose trying to weasel out of the sequester deal they agreed to last year...

McConnell offers Obama temporary deal on Bush tax cuts

"What we ought to be doing is extend the current tax rates for another year with a hard requirement to get through comprehensive tax reform one more time," said Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky.

The fate of the Bush tax cuts figures to be a major issue in the race between Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney.

Obama and congressional Republicans agreed to a temporary two-year extension of the Bush tax cuts in 2010; that deal expires in December.

... that deal expires in December.

President Obama and aides have shown little interest in a one-year extension, saying the Bush tax rates should be extended for middle-class Americans but ended this year for the wealthiest.

that's the deal now, Republicans can explain it however they please.

Obama, Stimulus and the American people win in the end.
