May 2023 elections, a good day for Democrats.

Nothing spectacular happened, as nothing really important was on the ballot.

The Democrat won in the Jacksonville, Florida mayor election, flipping the office. That's Republican territory. It doesn't mean Florida is ready to flip, but it's progress.

The Independent won in the Colorada Springs mayor election. As that city is extremely conservative, a Democrat wasn't going to win, but the crazy Republican fundamentalist lost. Again, progress.

Democrats won the special election in Pennsylvania, keeping their Pennsylvania house majority. The Democrat was expected to win there, but she won by a much larger margin than expected.

In NH, the same. The Democrat was expected to win the special election for a state house seat, and won by a much larger margin than expected.

So, nothing big happening, but all-around, Democrats performed better than expectations. That bodes well for 2024.
