Social Security NEEDS TO BE DOUBLED.

The government has been saying there has been no inflation, because they don't have the funds to increase it without raising taxes and Republicans wouldn't increase taxes 50 cents to save their mothers life.

But, since I retired 20 years ago:

The price of a F-150 loaded has increased from $22 K to over $45K.
Root canal went from $500 in 2007 to $1080 in 2015.
Dinner for two at a run of the mill steakhouse has gone from $30 to $70+ ... without considering tip

Prices of everything have doubled == or more == in the last 20 years.

20 more years without drastic increases and we will be standing at Intersections holding one of those cardboard signs " please help Social Security doesn't feed us ".

And you sure as hell don't want us coming back in the job market and taking jobs from younger less experienced people.

SS is a tax, it is no longer a personal retirement saving account. LBJ changed all that. As a tax, SS should be collected on all income with no limitations. Then there would be no problem covering the COLA changes that we will experience.
