Massachusetts Judge Orders Justina Pelletier To Be Returned Home

Sure, just read the article from the Boston Globe I just posted. The same judge who pulled her out, also returned her back home.I cannot believe he was dumb enough to believe what the DCF told him in the first place without engaging in a proper investigative process.

And who says I even listen to Glenn Beck? Who do you listen to? Mike Malloy?

I remember when Mike used to be the obligatory liberal host that WLS put on before they realized they didn't have to bother.

I loved his term, "Flying Monkey Right", even though at that time, I was kind of part of it.

The Judge returned her AFTER they had completed counseling and someone explained to them what they were doing wrong. Probably won't help. They'll end up killing this girl in a year. And then they'll blame Boston for not letting her have the full Quack Treatment.

And this, folks, is what "For Profit" medicine looks like.

And you go after people for listening to Glenn Beck? Sure, so you do listen to Mike Malloy, the Left's version of Glenn Beck/Micheal Savage.

She was an ice skater. Now she's in a wheel chair unable to walk. ONLY to a liberal is this not getting worse. She is now paralyzed from the waist down. ONLY to a liberal is this an improvement.

One of the things that DCF did that they wanted to do, was prevent Justina from attending Church. Which might have been the whole point of her incarceration.

Justina Pelletier Heading Home After 16-Month Medical Custody Battle - ABC News

According to the news story, she was in a wheelchair when she started her imaginary treatments.

Really, where? I looked at the story could not find that bit, can you quote it for me. TIA

Disgusting. I don't blame the parents for having issues with the hospital or the docs.

Strange the judge ordered right back to the SAME treatment she was receiving BEFORE she was taken if her parents were so damn wrong.

While this story is a bit sympathetic, here's an interesting tidbit.

The Justina Pelletier case: A medical collision with a child in the middle - Metro - The Boston Globe

But Peters had already begun to question that assessment. Here was a girl who was on multiple medications and who had undergone multiple interventions at the hands of multiple specialists, but all that care “has not yielded a definitive unifying diagnosis,” he wrote in Justina’s medical chart.

He noted that two of the criteria often used in arriving at a mitochondrial disease diagnosis were not present in Justina’s case. “Metabolic workup was unremarkable,” he wrote, adding, “She has not had a muscle biopsy.”

Just a few hours after Peters had first examined Justina, he entered a lengthy addendum to his admission notes, writing that he was concerned about the care she had received from numerous providers in different facilities and states, “the number of invasive procedures Justina has been submitted to, [and] the black and white thinking of Mom.” And he challenged Linda’s declaration of the mito diagnosis, saying Justina’s medical records suggested much less certainty.

As soon as Simona Bujoreanu entered Justina’s room the next day, Linda liked the 39-year-old psychologist’s bubbly personality.

Yet the psychologist quickly began to form her own doubts about both the mother and her daughter’s mito diagnosis. When she later documented her impressions from that first day, Bujoreanu noted that Justina appeared to be more impaired when her mother was around. During an examination that Monday afternoon, when Justina stuttered and struggled to articulate simple words such as cracker, Bujoreanu wrote, “mother was reacting at the bedside, making statements such as ‘See, what is that?’ or ‘Why is this happening?’ ”

As to the latter question, records show that Bujoreanu appeared to be homing in on an answer: a condition called somatoform (or somatization) disorder. As Bujoreanu explained in a 2011 review article that she co-wrote for a medical journal, “somatization is the process whereby distress is experienced as physical symptoms.”

The rest of your article is quite telling Boston performing what THEY call 'parent-ectomy". in fact 5 major cases where it seems they believe they are the deciding vote, even though esteemed and recognized physicians from other leading hospitals disagree.

It happens often enough that the pediatrician who until recently ran the child protection teams at both Children’s and Massachusetts General Hospital said she and others in her field have a name for this aggressive legal-medical maneuver. They call it a “parent-ectomy.”

In Massachusetts, the Department of Children and Families investigates all child abuse and neglect complaints and is supposed to be a neutral referee assessing the charges against the parents. Many parents and their advocates complain, however, that the state agency, because of its lack of in-house medical expertise and its longstanding ties with Children’s, is overly deferential to the renowned Harvard teaching hospital.. But given its well-earned reputation, Children’s can sometimes be a difficult institution to challenge. .

Seems they have something against mitochondrial disease and every child coming into the hospital is taken from its parents who have been diagnosed elsewhere. That is BS.

Around the same time as Justina’s admission, a 5-year-old Massachusetts girl, who had been treated for mitochondrial disorder at Mass. General, arrived at Children’s. Within a couple weeks, her mother was escorted out of the hospital by security late on a Friday afternoon, and the state took emergency custody of the girl. For the first time in her life, she spent the night without a family member at her side.

Two other cases involved diagnostic disputes over a rare autoimmune ailment known as PANDAS. In one of them, the parents of a 16-year-old New York girl lost custody of their daughter in the fall of 2012, shortly after her arrival at Children’s. The teenager was moved into the hospital’s locked psychiatric unit, and remained out of her parents’ custody for seven months.

In a fifth case, state investigators did not substantiate Children’s allegations against the parents, but hospital representatives continued to encourage ongoing state involvement, long after the patient’s care had been moved to a different hospital.

“The fact that Children’s has so much power that they can get us in trouble with a totally different hospital across the city is appalling,” said Jessica Hilliard, the mother involved in that case. Her son Gabriel is being treated for mitochondrial disease. The state did open a new investigation but ultimately closed it.

A doctor from Boston Children's says this of the new way to disagree with docs when they think the parent is involved.

Dr. Eli Newberger, a pediatrician who founded the child protection team at Children’s in 1970 and ran it for three decades, cautions that “doctors in this new specialty have enormous and really unchecked power.”

Why is it you believe Boston is the wholly knowledgeable institution about mitochondrial disease when so many other physicians disagree with them?

No, Unko, you are wrong. He is not ignorant. He isn't even stupid, at least about this. He sees, understands, AND APPROVES OF what is happening. He is absolutely pure evil on the level of Stalin.

Or maybe I just think that a team of doctors, a judge and child abuse specialists might have been right?

Hey, what if they were right?

Oh, wait, that doesn't fit into the government is out to get me narrative.

Yet again, at least the third time:
Before she was kidnapped by BCH, she was a competitive figure skater. A year and a half later, she is a wheelchair-bound cripple and may never walk again.

She was in pretty bad shape before BCH took charge of her. The quacks at Tufts had her on a shitload of unnecessary meds AND put a shunt into her digestive track.

And you go after people for listening to Glenn Beck? Sure, so you do listen to Mike Malloy, the Left's version of Glenn Beck/Micheal Savage.

I listened to him occasionally back in the 1990's.

When I was one of those poor deluded creatures who thought that a President lying about a blow job was the worst thing ever. Just ignore the unprecedented prosperity, he lied about a beej!

Now I realize that Beck and Savage and Limbaugh and the rest of them are out there to keep stupid people like you distracted from the real problems, the attempt of the 1% to loot the rest of us.

This is a case in point. Here you have for profit medicine who've found a way to loot this family by telling them their daughter has a disease that you can't really test for. But we'll do a shitload of really expensive procedures and really expensive medicines... at least until your insurance runs out.

Oh, wait. Other doctors are disputing our diagnosis?

Joe:

Trying isn't enough. The DCF wasn't even properly equipped to handle the case. Your First Grade reading comprehension, no doubt.

Your unmitigated faith in government is purely disturbing. I would be afraid to let you around children. Soon as you were, you'd place them on the altar of government and say "What is thy bidding, master?"

Oh, bullshit, they had pediatric specialists who deal with children all day telling them, "This is all manner of fucked up!"

Wasn't the government saying something was wrong, it was trained medical professionals.
