With just hours to go before the polling stations open for the Marriage Referendum, people are arriving home from all corners of the world to vote.
Independent.ie speaks to five people who have made the journey to Ireland to put their vote in the ballot box.

It's encouraging to see so many traveling home to Ireland to vote for this.
It's been said that a big turnout means a yes victory. The polls are closed now and it was a huge turnout.

20 years ago in Ireland homosexual acts had only just been decriminalised and same-sex marriage would have been unthinkable. But tonight the Irish people will vote in a same-sex marriage referendum. Mary Gearin was in Dublin for the final days of the campaign and filed this report.

If the Irish people vote yes in their same-sex marriage referendum it will be the first time a country has introduced same-sex marriage through a popular vote. Margaret Hickey is from 'Mothers and Fathers Matter', an Irish group that opposes same-sex marriage and defends the right of every child to their mother and father. Dr Eidin O'Shea is a campaigner for 'Irish Yes Equality Australia', a group of Australian-based Irish citizens supporting the 'yes' vote. They spoke to Emma Alberici ahead of tonight's referendum in Ireland.
