Man shoots up Florida School Board meeting

School boards are elected political bodies

This is not about a political decision of a school board.. or any particular politics of anyone involved....

You know why you wanted to put this in politics, and so do others....

But this should have been in general because it is basically just a current event of a crime... not a political issue

They were discussing taxes. That makes it political.

So if a mayor is in their office and is discussing budgetary spending and a gunman busts in because of a grudge or mental illness or whatever else, that makes it political because of the discussion happening at the time of the event?? Hardly

If this guy were a person whacked out spewing off about doing this because the mayor was a REP or a DEM or because of a bill that was signed or whatever else... that would be somewhat political... this guy was apparently upset about a personal situation that was not a result of a political stance... and we all know why someone like wrongwinger would try and put this as a political issue... we know what he is trying to insinuate

And this is political HOW?

Maybe because I did not read those because I do not have time to parse every thread... so I do not know the content or context of those threads

So if I commit a crime of shooting at someone... because I have something on my facebook that is against leftist liberalism, it makes my action political? Nope... sorry

Fla. School Official: God Protected Me During Shooting
A gunman calmly walked to a podium, spray painted a red "V'' with a circle around it on a wall and opened fire at Panama City school board members Tuesday, sending people scrambling and diving for cover. A security guard soon ran in, exchanged shots with and wounded the man who then killed himself, police said.

The Bay City Schools superintendent who calmly confronted the gunman who threatened to shoot him during the meeting said God protected him when Clay A. Duke opened fire

"It could have been a monumental tragedy," Superintendent Bill Husfelt said late Tuesday, wearing a sweat shirt and pajama bottoms, surrounded by his family. With a Christmas tree as backdrop, he said, "God was standing in front of me and I will go to my grave believing that."

"We could tell by the look in his eyes that this wasn't going to end well," Husfelt said.

Despite several shots being fired, no one else was hit. In video of the clash that lasted several minutes, Duke dispassionately confronts the Bay District school board, telling everyone in the room to leave except the men on the board. Duke, who was wearing a dark pullover coat, stands about eight feet directly in front of the board with the gun at his side.

I know, let's hold a seance and ask him! Then we can settle this blindingly earth shattering issue once and for all and get down to really serious business. Like how often xotoxi cleans the lint from his belly button.

That was sick.

And the reason I hate guns.

Yeah hate the gun instead of the fucking asshole shooting people.

The gun makes it incredibly easy for that fucking asshole to hurt others.

One on one..I am pretty sure I could kick that guys ass.

One on one..him with a gun..I ain't so sure anymore.

I bet the guy's wife put in her 4 years, was eligible for tenure, then they fired her.

Considering the jerk she was married to, she probably deserved to be fired

Huh?

A biography on Duke's Facebook page reads: "My Testament: Some people (the government sponsored media) will say I was evil, a monster (V)... no... I was just born poor in a country where the Wealthy manipulate, use, abuse, and economically enslave 95% of the population. Rich Republicans, Rich Democrats... same-same... rich... they take turns fleecing us... our few dollars... pyramiding the wealth for themselves. The 95%... the us, in US of A, are the neo slaves of the Global South. Our Masters, the Wealthy, do, as they like to us..."

Under "political views," Duke labels himself a "Freedom Fighter." Under religious views, he wrote, "Humanism."

You'd rather no one be able to protect themselves because you hate guns right?

It's your right to carry a weapon so exercise it.

A colleague of mine in Martial arts school said to me..

"Never pick up anything you can't eat".

And he was in the military as well.

I live by that.

Makes no sense.

You can't eat a pen, a rock, a baseball bat or a plethora of other things. Are you telling me you never pick any of those things up?

A weapon is a tool nothing more. If you refuse to use a tool to protect yourself and your family from those that would do you or them harm, that's your choice. You have no business telling others they must follow your example.
