Though I wouldn't get too caught up in the ideology of the shooter, they are mostly suffering from some sort of mental illness or breakdown. I think where ideology comes in is which side recognizes this is a problem and which side is kind of OK with our current levels of gun violence.

EDIT: To further clarify my thoughts. I think many of these nuts (not all) gravitate to a right wing ideology. They are often loners who feel they've been treated unfairly, whether they be incels or white supremacists who think their country is being taken away from them. They are victims, they have victim mentalities. How many on this board talk like they could be the next shooter?
